Formal Complaint Regarding Care by Judithe Apollon-Louissaint I have been a member of Preferred Health for over 30 years, dating back to when it was known as HIP Center. In all those years, I have never experienced the level of disrespect and lack of compassion that I encountered during my visit on December 12, 2025. My interaction with Judithe Apollon-Louissaint was deeply troubling. She was dismissive, condescending, and showed little to no empathy. I felt treated as a number rather than as a patient with legitimate health concerns. She repeatedly cut me off, saying “no, no, no,” and instructed me to “go to your primary care physician” without allowing me to fully explain my concerns or feel heard. Her behavior made the environment feel unsafe and unwelcoming—more like a setting where individuals are processed rather than cared for. This type of interaction contributes to the very disparities that cause many people of color to dread seeking medical care. Patients should feel… respected, listened to, and supported, especially when discussing health issues. Healthcare providers play a critical role in fostering trust and ensuring patients feel valued. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I left the appointment feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. Compassion and empathy are essential qualities in healthcare, and in this instance, those qualities were clearly lacking. We, as patients, are not just numbers—we are people with real health concerns. Anyone, including this provider or her family, could one day be in the same position. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I strongly urge others to be mindful when scheduling an appointment with Judithe Apollon-Louissaint, as my experience reflected a concerning lack of patient-centered care.
