My dentist told me my incisors had lost their roots from being moved too fast during the orthodontic process. So I had veneers put on. But for lack of a proper retainer I am going through the process a second time! I thought the whole original experience with this dentist was demeaning and humiliating. There are plenty of orthodontic practices out there. Look for them, while I look for a lawyer.
