I am extremely disappointed with how my case was handled by AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, particularly in relation to documentation sent for my disability claim. Despite clear medical records detailing my struggles with anxiety, depression, insomnia, mental fog, pain, weakness, and other ongoing physical and emotional issues, the summary section of the report falsely stated that I had no anxiety or depression and was in good physical health. This is a direct contradiction to the documented details within the same report and paints a false picture of my condition. This misleading summary had a significant negative impact on my disability case and fails to reflect the true extent of my ongoing health challenges. Even more troubling, the report included personal information about my upcoming travel plans, which had absolutely no relevance to my medical condition and should never have been disclosed. Including this in my medical record—and submitting it to disability—was a clear and… unacceptable violation of my privacy. Cancer treatment is already physically and emotionally exhausting. To be misrepresented in such a careless and contradictory way by a healthcare provider I trusted has added unnecessary stress to an already difficult journey. I sincerely hope AtlantiCare reviews how they handle disability documentation and patient confidentiality. Patients deserve honest, consistent, and respectful treatment—especially when it involves their livelihood and well-being.
