"April 2024 I went to the ER in excruciating pain in my back and radiating down my left arm. After being assured it wasn’t my heart, turned out it was my cervical spine…again. (8years prior I had to have a two level fusion in Savannah). We chose BJI because it was close to our home. I went and saw the PA who said I needed an EMG done and sent me on my way with some heavy steroids. My EMG appt at their office was scheduled for two weeks after that visit. I passed that test, saw the PA again and he sent me in my way with NSAIDs, then two days later the steroids wore off and the level 10 pain was back and I could barely stand up. I called at 8 am and got a 4 pm same day appt with a Dr. I got to the visit, visibly in distress and told to wait. When I got to the room, the young nurse was very kind to me. She took my info and complaints and left the room to get the Dr. that’s when I heard a man yell down the hallway outside of the room to tell me I needed a CT Myleogram. She came back in the… room and told me what I had already heard the Dr shout to her. I told her the pain was too great and I needed help. They KNEW I wasn’t seeking pain meds as I am allergic to them. They reluctantly gave me a steroid shot and sent me on my way to wait for an appt to get said CT Myleogeam. After doing research, and already having this issue before, I chose not to do the CT Myleogram and call my previous ortho pedicure spine surgeon in Savannah. After speaking to him at an appt and relaying all this to him, he was flabbergasted as to why they would put me thru such an invasive and extremely painful procedure and not just send me for an MRI. He immediately started me on Valentin for the nerve pain and got me in for an MRI and immediate surgery the following week. It has been two months and BJI has NOT even called me to see why I never followed up with them. I NEVER saw a Dr in three visits even though I couldn’t barely stand up. I wasn’t respected and was dismissed like a piece of trash and wasted two and a half months of my time when I needed care ASAP. I will never go here again even if my life depended on it. I hope I don’t have permanent nerve pain from lack of care at their hands. Find another orthopedic practice. Your life isn’t worth the convenience of being close to home.
