"Dishonest. My mom used Coast Dental and prior to any work she got done by them, she made sure their staff cleared it with her insurance to make sure everything was covered. To our surprise we started receiving bills from Coast Dental. My mom is elderly and speaks little English, so it wasn’t easy for her to address this on her own. I went to Coast Dental and spoke to Brandt, who looked into the invoices and told me that it was the insurance who had not covered the totality of the bill, therefore my mom was responsible for the difference. As I was still in their office, I got on the phone with mom’s insurance, who advised that Coast Dental had overcharged their scheduled fees and they had covered their part. It was only when confronted with this information that Brandt finally adjusted their invoice to the insurance scheduled fees and my mom was cleared. So, this means that they were telling my mom the work was covered by her insurance, but at the time of billing they were overcharging… her, without clarifying this information to her. If mom doesn’t have someone to protect her from this dishonest practice, she would have had no option but to pay their excessive fees. I’ll be staying clear from them and will make sure that mom, too. They are taking advantage of elderly people or anyone who won’t do their homework. I wish I could give them zero stars."
