Billing and Consent Concerns I scheduled and documented a routine preventive visit only. After my appointment, my insurance processed claims for several additional services that were never discussed with me or expressly authorized, including adjunctive pre-diagnostic testing, oral/facial photographic imaging, diagnostic casts, and non-routine X-rays. Some of these were denied, leaving unexpected charges. Most concerning, certain procedures were billed that were not performed during my visit (no impressions/casts were taken, and no cancer screening was conducted). A gingivitis-related application was completed without prior cost explanation and was later refunded after I raised concerns. My insurer requested clinical records, which I also requested, but did not receive promptly. The appointment also appeared double-booked, and the cleaning felt rushed (the hygienist did not complete it; the dentist did a subpar job after having me wait). Patients should request clear explanations… and written confirmation of any services beyond a routine cleaning before treatment. Highly do not recommend and I would not return!
