Last October, my son developed a serious infection after oral surgery, needing two rounds of antibiotics only to develop a mysterious disorder weeks later that caused his hands and feet to swell to a level of being unusable. In trying to figure out what was going on with my son we talked to Dr Ludlow who said he had never had anything happen like this before. My son went thru 5 medical specialist, countless blood tests, MRI, liver, kidney, heart testing and long high doses of steroids, and antihistamines. It took 5 months to even start healing. Their best guess is that he had a Level 3/4 reaction to Amoxycillin given for the infection by Dr Ludlow. The immune system response cycle can last 4-6 months. What concerns me the most is that Dr Ludlow’s office during this time kept calling us to set appts for a cleaning but not once did he or anyone from his office check on my son to see how he was doing.
