Beware! Caution! Where to begin? So after having gone through several treatments from previous physicians my skin has actually gotten worse with each try. I researched and found Dr. Desai and decided to give him a try. Initial encounter- somewhere between "small man complex" and "god complex" should suffice for the initial exchange during my first appointment. Dr. Desai dismissed my previous experiences and doubts with an aggressive and condescending dispositional dialogue which consisted of him explaining to me how he doesn't care what anyone thinks, says, or recommends regarding my skin. (Please keep in mind I have had many bad experiences and my skin has gotten worse over time with medical treatments). Dr. Desai prescribed a course of medication which included a skin cream which I have heard mixed reviews on over the years. I asked him if it might be a good idea to try a sample area to see how the cream would respond to my skin before diving in head first. Again, his demeanor was… haughty and questionable. I sensed this and decided to trust his judgment, so I agreed to the prescribed course of action. Within 24 hours of the first application, my skin was exponentially worse in the exact pattern that I applied the cream the previous night. It was frightening to say the least. Imagine someone colored in your face with a much darker shade of color using a colored pencil. This is how defined the contrasts were in color. My daughter said "you look like a panda". I called the office and of course you're not allowed to speak with a real person, left a message explaining what happened, and received a call, of course not from the doctor, but from a nurse. I explained the severity of what had happened and she instructed me to stop using the cream and try applying it to a smaller more discreet area to see how my skin would react to it. Now remember this is exactly what I asked Dr. Desai during our initial visit. I asked the nurse if Dr. Desai wanted to see what my face looked like. She said no just test the cream on another area of my body and see what happened. My skin looks terrible, almost scary, I asked again if the doctor might want to see photos of my skin, to which the nurse replied "would you like to send us photos of your skin?" (in an almost condescending manner that eerily resembled how the doctor spoke during the fist visit). I said I did not want to send photos but thought it would be a good idea if the doctor could see this negative reaction I was having. In short I was dismissed and felt as though I was just a number in the system that needed to be cleared. At this point I don't know what to do, I don't trust Dr. Desai, and my skin I feel is ruined..... Even after the nurse could sense my frustration and disappointment in the reaction to the cream I have received zero follow up or concern regarding my situation. However, when Dr. Desai was in pursuit of my payment for services, and products he sold me, this office was Johnny on the spot!! Do NOT use this Doctor under any circumstances.
