The billing manager and nurse were pleasant and knowledgeable. But the receptionist merely glanced at my cards and announced they don’t take my insurance; they do. I completed all their forms in advance, typing my own forms when things didn’t fit; she insisted I write it on their form. She kept my insurance cards but a nurse came for me before I could ask for them; the nurse was told I would get them when I check out. This made me uneasy, and the nurse suggested I tell Dr. Jay. When I tried to tell him about that and other office concerns, he got irritated, said I should have arrived early, and advised me to reschedule if uncomfortable. (I had arrived early, with all required information.) I agreed to leave, mostly because of his reaction. On my way out I asked billing why my SS# was required; it is not, the form is outdated. I asked reception why my insurance cards were kept; so she could scan them at her convenience- but she had not and had to shuffle lots of paper to find them. Not… OK
