I had a terrible experience with the physician who was assigned to me while in the hospital for atrial flutter. When I asked for something to help me, relax as I had been under extreme stress, he suggested I drink a glass of wine to relax. First of all I’m on too many different kinds of medication that would not agree with that idea. I could’ve gotten that advice at a local bar. I am very disappointed in the doctor that was supposedly watching me while I was there. Even the nurse said that it would’ve been better. Had I taken something to relax earlier and likely converted sooner. Everywhere I read says that stress can add to atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation. Nothing advises anyone to drink alcohol. I will not be going back to that doctor for anything.
