North Country Primary Care

This place used to be amazing. Now it is impossible to ever get anyone on the phone lines. The few times I did manage to get anyone on the phone, most of the nurses and staff were rude and hurried. No one called me back. I had no idea if my messages were getting through to my doctor. They scheduled someone else's appointment right on top of mine when I was going through a horrible time detoxing from a certain medication. I could get no other appointments, except for one with an extremely sexist doctor- who was not my primary care physician. This doctor told me more than once that nothing wrong except that I was a typical nervous woman. While going through heavy withdrawal symptoms- including rapid heart rate and extreme vertigo- I was forced to see unfamiliar doctors in clinics I had never been to in my life. Now my new primary care office still cannot obtain my records from them even though it has been over 3 months.

This clinic is bottom of the barrel! You don't want to come here! Check-in is near the entrance at ground level. You have to show-up 30 minutes before your appointment time just to check-in! Check-in is SO SLOW! Even the elevators are unusually slow! You then have to go upstairs to the clinic and let them know at the window that you are there. Then you sit and wait another 20-30 minutes before they finally take you in. I was suppose to have Dr. Mackenzie as my Primary Care Provider. I never even got to meet the man. There are no walk-ins at this clinic if you're sick. You have to call them and make an appointment and good luck with that. They don't always answer the phone. You have to wait on hold sometimes 25-30 minutes. When/if someone answers you explain your symptoms to that person. Then they have a nurse that calls you back soon after and you have to explain your symptoms again. It's like having to fight to see the doctor! The nurse finally gives you an… appointment to be seen within a few days. You cannot speak to your Primary Care Provider on the phone. Your provider will never call you back no matter how bad the situation gets. I came to the clinic for like 3 months before I couldn't take it any longer.
