They did a good job at treating my stage 1 breast cancer. However, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a comprehensive cancer care “center.” All aspects of care happen in different location both within the hospital and nearby buildings. There *is* a nurse navigator. Mine was pretty poor. She did nothing to really coordinate the complexities of my “routine care.” For example, she assigned me to a doctor who was going on maternity leave. So I had to switch doctors mid-care. The second doctor was incompetent (Hanmantgad). The drugs I was taking affect heart and lungs. Possible “severe lung damage” is listed as a side effect. She wrote in her progress notes that she listened to my heart and lungs, but in fact when she saw me she never got out of her chair or even touched me. I think that’s malpractice. I didn’t want to switch again, so when my 1st doctor returned I went back to her. Even that was disruptive. 99% of the nurses are great in the infusion suite and radiation oncology. … There is one in the infusion suite who should retire; she is very negative. Highly competent, but a really poor attitude for a healthcare environment. The nurses are busy all the time. The rooms are crowed and noisy. Tuesdays after a Monday holiday are a nightmare. They have outgrown their space. I would really think twice before going there for another cancer diagnosis, especially severe or advanced.
