I reached out to Rand Dental for routine care and to discuss replacing a crown. I made sure to confirm multiple times that they accepted my plan. When I called to schedule my first appointment, I specifically asked them to triple-check, and they assured me they did. At my first appointment, I asked again, and they confirmed it. During my 2nd visit, they informed me they had contacted my insurance about the X-ray for my crown. They told me the X-ray was covered, but I would need to wait until the end of the year for the full X-ray to be completed and paid for my insurance. Based on this, I moved forward with the care. Now, I'm receiving repeated bills for the services, with Rand Dental claiming my insurance didn't cover them. This is unacceptable. I explicitly asked them to verify coverage, and they repeatedly assured me it was covered. Patients should not be held responsible for these costs when a provider fails to properly confirm insurance coverage, especially after being asked… multiple times. Having experience with medical billing, I know that everything is negotiable. I've successfully navigated similar situations in the past with understanding and cooperation from medical provide. However, Rand Dental is taking zero responsibility for their errors and refuses to work with me. Instead, they are insisting that I pay for services that should have been fully covered by my insurance. As a result, I am filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
