Scultura Plastic Surgery

After living with the results of this surgery for the past year and a half, I feel it is important to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision. I underwent breast implant removal along with a small tummy tuck and limited liposuction with Jon Bradley Strawn, MD, MBA at Scultra Plastic Surgery. What followed was a long and difficult recovery that ultimately resulted in hospitalization, extensive wound care, permanent scarring, and a cosmetic outcome that has been emotionally devastating. Following surgery, I developed a significant wound across my chest. Over the next several weeks, I continued to receive treatment and follow-up care. On multiple occasions, Dr. Strawn came to my home to drain fluid when the office was closed. Despite ongoing problems with the wound, I was not referred to a wound specialist for approximately two months. When I was finally evaluated by the wound specialist, I was immediately directed to go to the emergency room. I was… hospitalized for four days and then spent approximately two months with a wound VAC before the wound eventually healed. Today, I am left with extensive scarring across my chest. In addition, the cosmetic result was not what I expected. After implant removal, I was left completely flat-chested, which has significantly affected my confidence and self-image. I understand that every surgery carries risks and that complications can occur. I am simply sharing the facts of my experience so that prospective patients can make their own informed decisions.
