Update: when Dr Jessilin Quint learned I filed complaints she called me and attempted to argue! She told me over the phone my chart contained symptoms I NEVER STATED during my appointment and that I didn’t have allergies despite dealing with this since I was a kid! When I told her I wasn’t interested in arguing with her and hung up she called me again! The history contained in my chart is almost completely fabricated - The office intentionally left out paperwork that I filled out when I requested my records despite specifically requesting it. They included a LipiScan despite the fact that I specifically declined all non routine services - who performs advanced imaging without examining a patient? It has a time almost an hour before my appointment time - yet they somehow have my name on it? The note even says she signed it the day they were printed over a month later - which she denies stating that was the date they were printed - despite my 2014 records in the same folder not showing… the same thing. Dr Jessilin Quint went as far as to say I simply needed to “turn the page over” to find my missing records and yet the certified copy she promised has still not arrived at my address. None of her actions during my time in the office were inline with my insurances clinical practice guidelines (she is in network and has agreed to these terms) - or the guidelines of other major insurance carriers. Doctors cannot simply order all testing available on every patient in an attempt to maximize reimbursement regardless of medical necessity or the patients wishes without ever examining them. If this happens to you please file a complaint with the state board of optometry! I came in for a routine eye exam. I was offered an optional tear test which resulted in my exam being billed to my medical insurance instead of my vision insurance. They are now giving me the run around and saying they cannot bill my vision insurance because it’s a “medical diagnosis” resulting in me having to pay my medical deductible for these services. I was NEVER told my exam would no longer be billed under my vision insurance and that I would incur these unexpected expenses. The office manager was my technician during my appointment and never went over any of this - simply stated the lab test would be billed to my medical insurance. I feel like I was deliberately misled in an attempt to rack up unnecessary expenses without full explanation that the patient is stuck paying. I only went in to this appointment for new glasses. It is insurance fraud to perform a baseline test and then code it as diagnostic to bill my medical insurance - and the test needs to be ordered by the doctor and documented in my chart with medical necessity prior to the test being performed. Not ordered by the office manager and then changed to diagnostic after the fact.
