Stella Maris Sub Acute Rehab

I DO NOT recommend the Stella Maris sub-acute rehab facility for you or your loved ones, and most especially not if they are not mobile or of full mind. I thought Stella Maris would be a good choice as a subacute rehab center, however I am extremely disappointed. They make you stay in bed, do not get you dressed and ready for your day. They do not communicate your therapy schedule they just pop in so you might get therapy, it’s hit or miss and the therapy is very lame to help you improve your strength. They prefer to have him lay in bed. He is in REHAB!!! He needs to move and get well and walk. I recommend you do your research before you come but the staff may tell you one thing but not follow through on their promises. My Father’s care has been sub-par to say the least!!! It is BELOW average. No one communicates with you. When you escalate your concerns, they don’t seem to address them. If you ring the bell it takes them at least 45 minutes to come to you. When my dad fell… at their facility, they did not notify me until 45 minutes after the fall. Decisions about health care are not in keeping with standards of practice. Overall, they are understaffed. All nurses seem to be contractors that rotate in and out so you never seem to have the same nurse twice and they don’t really know the patients. Most importantly they DO NOT care about their patients. Also, very little actual rehabilitation is going on there. If you have to come here, be prepared to advocate and be present!!!
