I had issues with my medication and when I called to tell the doctor, I only got to talk to the desk assistant. She relayed medical information from the psychiatrist to me. That information is supposed to be confidential and if the doctor actually spoke with me I believe she would have realized the medication should not have been increased. After a while the therapy sessions became less about coping strategies and healthy self management and more about taking medication longer after letting them know it didn’t work. I did not confirm that I wanted my therapist to share my information with the psychiatrist but they seemed to have already done that because they were partners. I had to go an inpatient facility after my medication problems and felt better. I think the care started semi-well but they didn’t seem receptive to what I was saying.
