I was referred to Dr. Cassie Chan in December 2025 after my daughter was evaluated by a cardiologist for ongoing seizures, fainting episodes, and blood pressure concerns. Following several weeks of heart monitoring, the cardiologist recommended that she be seen by Dr. Chan for further evaluation. When I contacted the office to schedule an appointment, I was informed that the earliest available appointment was September 2026. Although I was concerned about the lengthy wait, I accepted the appointment because my daughter continued to need specialized care. On June 1, 2026, my daughter was contacted by the office and informed that Dr. Chan would no longer be available for her scheduled appointment. We were then offered a new appointment date of April 28, 2027. Given my daughter’s ongoing symptoms, including a recent fainting episode, I contacted the office multiple times to express my concerns and inquire whether an earlier appointment could be made available. I was ultimately informed… that Dr. Chan was aware of my daughter’s situation and that April 2027 was the earliest appointment available. I understand that specialist schedules can be demanding and that unforeseen changes occur. However, it is deeply concerning to have an already scheduled appointment postponed by an additional seven months for a patient who continues to experience active symptoms. As a parent, it is difficult to accept such an extended delay in care when a child’s medical condition remains unresolved. My intention in sharing this experience is not to criticize the medical care itself, as my daughter has not yet had the opportunity to be seen, but rather to highlight the challenges families face when attempting to access timely specialty care. - Mechelle Webber
