Dear Dr. Rivera, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent experience my elderly mother had during her appointment with you last Wednesday. She sought medical attention due to severe asthma symptoms, including wheezing, coughing, congestion, and a sensation of breathlessness. Although she only met with the physician assistant, my mother requested testing for COVID-19, flu, and RSV. It has now been five days since her appointment, and we are still awaiting the results. My mother has been diligently calling the office for the past three days, yet no information has been provided. We were informed that there is no in-house lab, which has added to our frustration. What is particularly upsetting is the response from your office staff, who dismissed her concerns by stating that not receiving the results is "not a big deal" since it was just the common flu. As my mother is 82 years old and was in a significantly ill state when she sought care, this level of negligence… and indifference to her health is unacceptable.
