I was a patient at this concierge practice for two years, paying $5,500 per year. My husband was also a patient, so together we spent more than $20,000 with the practice during that time. Based on the level of service concierge medicine promises, I expected a much smoother experience when transitioning to a new primary care physician. When our concierge physician left the practice in December, I completed the paperwork they provided to authorize the release of my medical records to my new PCP. Months later, I was told they couldn't find the form and that I now have to wait for a paper authorization to arrive by mail, sign it, and mail it back before they'll release my records. For a practice charging premium concierge fees, it's disappointing that they don't have a secure electronic process for signatures, records requests, and other administrative tasks. To make matters worse, one of my routine prescriptions expired during this transition. The practice refused to provide a one-time… refill because I'm no longer a patient. My new physician can't refill it because she hasn't received my medical records from the concierge practice. I was told that exceptions have been made for former patients in similar situations, but they were unwilling to extend the same courtesy to me. The lack of flexibility, poor record management, and outdated administrative processes are not what I expected from a practice that charges thousands of dollars per year. Concierge medicine is supposed to make healthcare easier, not create unnecessary obstacles. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. There are other concierge practices that offer a much better patient experience and more modern systems for the price.
