Dr. James David Sands

Not only was my first encounter when I place my phone call to make an appointment with Dr. Sands office staff was awesome, very patient and very understanding w/me and my situation. Office is immaculately clean, overall I highly recommend this doctor very understanding when he came into the room there were no instruments or anything to cause me to have a panic attack, he came in with his hands behind his back very natural with me, sat down and explained in detailed I'm particular situation in a clam, even humourous manner. He's professionalism precedes him.

Just wanted to say that I love the fact that they have a cat in the office as it calms me( this cat never left behind desk )! I have been going to Dr. Jim since I was 18 and now I am...( let’s just say 30 plus years) and have had nothing but fantastic service! My entire family goes here and would highly recommends!

This doctor and their staff were great! I have a lot of anxiety when visiting the dentist but this group of people always put me at ease. Love them!

I was scared to death to go to the dentist. But after an urging from my wife, and a recommendation from a friend, I visited Dr. Sands office.... Immediately I felt comfortable in his office, it has a cottage like setting that puts the mind at ease....and my pleasant journey had begun..... Dr. Sands and his staff handled me and my fear of the "dentist" with a seemingly effortless ease...... Informative, comforting, and caring 100% of the time. Dr. Sands years of experience shown through his professional yet personable demeanor....and was complimented through his thoroughly competent staff.....from the front desk to the dentist chair, I felt cared for all of the time....... Susie, the dental hygienist is a MASTER at her craft......the best dental visit of my life......I would highly recommend......

To begin- I'd like to state that I've been a patient of approximately 10-12 Dentists in my life including specialists i.e. Endodontics, Oral Surgery. I expect a superior level of professionalism- including respect, politeness, and 'bed-side mannerism'; Aside from experience and... 1st- Dr. Sands' office houses a cat, at least during partial day-time hours; this alone is against Health Dept. regulations... This is NOT a Veterinary Clinic! Cats jump and climb everywhere... that is their normal behavior, therefore their tracts are all over the office. The cat's box/bedding is on the floor behind the front counter. btw- I am a cat owner, but a cat in a medical office of any sort for humans is not sanitary! 2nd- Dr. Sands' verbal policy, so to say is "Sit down and shut up". Really...? Are you serious...? He also doesn't care for the patient to ask too many questions (in his opinion); I'm sorry- but, I'm the patient and you're working on me, therefore I have the right to ask… as many questions re: what you're preparing to do as I care to, and I will ask! In my case, Dr. Sands reported to my employer whom was responsible for the bill, that I asked too many questions; amongst other things i.e. rudeness and unprofessional, he violated the Federal HIPPA Law! 3rd- Dr. Sands' Lab Assistant (middle aged red-haired female) who was responsible for the in-house manufacture of the temporary bridge has the same rude nature & attitude as he... I wonder why(?). Her quality of making a temporary crown or bridge is very questionable... temporary, whether a week or 3 mos. should be of high quality as one's appearance should not be jeopardized due to her lack of craftsmanship! 4th- During the course of extracting a damaged live tooth, then prepping neighboring teeth for a permanent bridge, damage occurred to an adjacent tooth, of which I am currently seeking legal counsel. The approximate cost for this repair so it is as close to having the natural tooth in place before the damage occurred, I've estimated between four (4) and twelve (12) thousand dollars; As there are two permanent repair options. Should I be responsible for this cost due to dental negligence by the practitioner? Thank you for reading!
