Dr. Christopher G. Gharibo, MD

Avoid! I saw him 3 years ago and because of NYU politics he is still blocking me from seeing other doctors at NYU (it is becoming more difficult to go outside NYU with the buying up practices with their huge endowment). He didn't listen to me when I told him I had already had epidural shots and they didn't work because he runs an epidural shot mill so everybody gets one whether they need it or not. After the shot he didn't return multiple emails asking what he had injected. More than one subsequent physician told me it was an inappropriate therapy but they couldn't go on record because Dr. Gharibo has too much clout.

Dr. Gharibo fit me in to his busy schedule because I was having a lot of pain. I had never seen him before, so I appreciated not having to wait. When he first came into the examination room, I thought he was cold. However, as we talked, I realized my first impression was incorrect. He was kind, asked a lot of questions, and ordered appropriate tests. He called me as soon as he got the results, and asked me to schedule a follow up. I can see why some people might think he is cold - however, some shy people come across that way, even though they are actually not cold at all. Give a person the benefit of the doubt - isn't that the compassionate thing to do?

Only cares about administering injections -- doesn't view you as a multifaceted person in pain with complex issues. NYC has many good & caring pain specialists - this mean-spirited guy isn't one of them.

D. Gharibo is a kind,caring doctor who actually listens to your questions and answers honestly. His staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this Dr. to all

For over a year I have been to tons of Dr's for my ailment then met with Dr. Gharibo. I wish I had seen him earlier before my issue progressed as bad as it did. He is very intelligent, very compassionate, communicative, spends time with you and most importantly finally helped ease my pain without using strong meds and was able to figure out what was wrong when no one else in nyc was able to and only wanted to treat me with strong meds. You may have to wait a bit for him in the waiting room but he is worth the wait.

I like this guy a lot. Making an appointment with him is easy, he doesn't keep you waiting, and he gets right down to business in pinpointing and treating your problem. Morover, he is very responsive to emails and he actually does seem to care. All in all I wholeheartedly recommend him.
