Dr. Ervin Yates Eaker, MD

I'm wondering if my sister should cancel her appointment. Such bad reviews.

Felt degraded, unsafe, extremely uncomfortable and like an imposition. Thats just the beginning. I will never go back and would never recommend him to anyone.

i would not recommend this doctor to a dying spider!! he did not believe me when i said i was in pain or nauseated. this doctor was uncaring or unfeeling.

We were referred to this man by our current GI doctor and I was in total disbelief as to this mans rudeness and uncaring heart. My husband has been sick for months and this man did not have a solution and didn't seem to care about helpin us. I have never in my life been to a doctor who was as arrogant, rude and heartless as this man was. We were in total shock when we walked out of his office.

The best, I will always call Dr. Eaker "my doctor".

I would most definitely not recommend Dr Ervin Eaker Jr, MD. He has a very poor bedside manner. I was never able to get my questions answered because he wouldn't be quiet long enough for me to speak. When he was done speaking, he was walking out the door. I have a lot of GI problems/diseases and was seen by this doctor for a few years. I was in and out of the hospital and the ER all the time. At one point he told me to call him before heading out to the ER. So, the next time I needed to go to the ER, I called him, as instructed. He was so rude. He acted like I was bothering him. I told him that I was calling exactly as instructed, 24/7. I told him I was experiencing pain exactly like I did when I had ischemic colitis. In a rushed, rude manner he said, "you are not having that same pain." It was apparent that I was bothering him. He was annoyed by me calling him. How would he know what pain I'm experiencing? I hung up and went ahead and went to the ER. When I got to… the ER they mentioned something about Dr. Eaker being my GI doctor and I told them that no, he was no longer my doctor, that I had fired him after I hung up. He was more interested in money than taking care of patient's that trusted him. I believe what he wanted to do was keep me from going to the ER and make me drive all the way out to his office so he would receive payment from the insurance company and my co-pay. He always wanted full payment right up front, whether you had it or not. No payment arrangements were offered. He said he wanted me to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He said he would write a letter of recommendation, of which he did do after me asking him several times if he'd sent it yet. When I would inquire about the letter to Mayo, he would say he forgot, but would get right on that. This went on for months. This doctor will never get a recommendation from me. In my opinion, this doctor shouldn't even be able to practice medicine. He'll probably know exactly who wrote this, even though I'm not giving my name. Just whatever you do, do not go to this doctor.

I do not recommend Dr. Eaker or his office. They care more about money than they do about treating their patients with respect. I was seen four months ago for a colonoscopy and the doctor's office is refusing to refill my medication stating that I need to be seen in the office since it has been a year since an office visit. I have been through several GI doctor's and they have always used the date of my last visit, even if it was a procedure, to determine dates for refills. All they want is my $60 copay and to bill my insurance company. When I discussed this with the PA she told me that she would be "happy to send my records to another doctor." She clearly did not care about losing me as a patient so I will not recommend him to anyone. I am an active member of the Crohn's and Colitis foundation and am often asked for doctor referrals. They will not be getting any referrals from me. Dr. Eaker is also very rude and his bedside manner is not good.

During a colonoscopy I awoke and tried to get the attentiong of someone. I lifted my head and could see two men in a booth having a jovial conversation and not looking my way. I finally screamed and that got their attention. They then gave me more narcotic to knock me out and when it was all over I went home and vomited. Not a good experience and will never forget it.

Dr. Eaker is the best in the business. He very well may have saved my life.

If you consider going to a GI doctor, do not consider Dr. Eaker, very bad bed side manner, i.e. rude. I was pushed off to his physician assistant who is a little nicer but the last experience with him, he never returned my call. I would stay away from this doctor.
