Dr. Francis Michael Ferrante, MD

Not only did Dr. Ferrante offer & perform a subpar surgery for my chronic pain knowing there were better treatment options, but he also did a terrible job with my stitches and incision. He also spends little to no time with his patients and his documentation is less than accurate. Bottom line - I'd look elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ferrante's for over ten years and I have received care from him for several ailments from chronic pain to emergency situations with great care and concern. I have also witnessed him deal with other patients with the same grace and concern. I count him as one of my favorite doctors and I am so grateful to receive care from him.

I have had lower back, middle back and neck and shoulder pain for years. As a former paratrooper in the US Army and Vietnam Vet with specialized training in the art of warfare, I've taken a lot of bumps and bruises as a young man and a parachutist. The VA couldn't help me after all the therapies that they tried on my back. It wasn't until I was referred to Dr. Ferrante that I started receiving some relief. He is a very attentive physician, he listens and explains, recommends and performs the proper procedures to relieve my chronic pain issues. Since I've been seeing Dr. F my pain is much more manageable than it's ever been dealing with the VA or anyone else that have treated me for my condition. I've seen some of these nasty negative reviews and the person they describe is not Dr. F, no way!! His staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. They try to meet and treat your every concern. Dr. Ferrante I thank you and your staff for your care and concern and treatment. For me it… doesn't get any better. Again thank you my friend.

I am impressed by Dr. Ferrante's professionalism and his knowledge. He listens carefully to my problems and cares deeply that my condition improve. I am very pleased with the results.

I have some very complex pain issues with my neck and low back. Four neck surgeries two low back. I had given up on ever being pain free, or off the high doses of Morphine I was on until I found Dr. Ferrante. He almost immediately after review of my medical history recommended I try a morphine Pump. While I wasn't excited about surgery, or living with a medical device for the rest of my life. I went ahead with the surgery and almost immediately felt relief. This has enabled me to start the reduction of morphine, while I'm not off the pills totally the amount is drastically reduced and continue to reduce the pills on a fairly regular basis. This however was not the only problem the Doctor has also helped me with the constant burning sensations in my neck, and the crippling muscle spasms I experience. By the way he has kept my low back in check so that it doesn't even seem to be an issue! He and his staff are caring, something I haven't seen much of in the past with other Doctors. I just… thank GOD I found Dr. Ferrante!!

This doctor, in my opinion has questionable ethical practices. After having in implant placed in my body which ran from the back of my head to my hip (witch never worked) I found out my insurance carrier would NOT have approved the device as they found it to be "not medically necessary and experimental. After months of research into the reason I was approved I found out that Dr. Ferrante lied and told the people that approve or disapprove the procedure that he was doing another procedure that they would approve and not the actual procedure he performed on me. I had to undergo an additional surgery to remove the device and UCLA took no responsibility for the doctor nor did he offer an apology. Dr. Ferrante's explanation for why he wrote the wrong procedure was that there was no code for the operation he performed on me. Do you want to trust this guy with your life?

i have read some of the most insulting and ugly reports i have ever read in my life about Dr Ferrante. i am wondering where these people got their stories from. i can only imagine from the way these disgusting accounts have been written here that these folks are probably not very nice people to deal with and very likely have attitude that few professionals could handle. They are acting like spoiled children as i believe that their stories are grossly inflated and very probably untrue. My experience of Dr. Ferrante and his staff after 17 visits to his clinic over 5 years is a record of absolute excellence. his attention to clinical detail is of the highest order and his ability to control chronic pain is legend. i originally trained as a doctor and then I went into law and i am therefore quite confident that my judgment is solid and perfectly reliable. Dr Ferrante has performed caudal epidural shots with fluoroscopy to my lower lumbar treating my worsening spinal stenosis and he… has also performed subachromial corticosteroid shots also with fluoroscopy to my right shoulder. i have had first class results every time. Dr Ferrante is the best pain manager i have ever found and his bedside manner is also of the highest order. i have recommended Dr. Ferrante to several friends and every single one of them are just delighted with the results of their visits. it is sad that the world has its share of spoiled whiners and wankers and it seems that Dr. Ferrante has had more that his share of these pathetic examples of the human race. I for one hope that Dr. Ferrante continues to flourish as he indeed currently does and that he is around for many years to come to help the majority of his loyal patients, including myself who really appreciate his learned ability and his wonderful and successful treatment over many years.

I'm a health professional who was referred to this doc for pain management. After first being seen by a resident and discussing pain meds, she suggested a different one I was willing to try (at this point, I had stopped taking anything). Ferrante waltzed in, spent less than 5 minutes and ordered more MRIs. I went back into the waiting room to collect the orders and prescription. The script was missing and a receptionist told me Ferrante said no meds. I had been told to return in 4 weeks. Now, what was I going to do re this rather severe pain without any treatment during the interim? Ferrante refused to come back out and speak to me there or even return my phone call. First do no harm!? He made things worse and in fact, the MRI revealed additional injuries to what I already have and what Ferrante was well aware of. I hate to spend the time, but plan to file formal complaints. He had someone tell me I could speak to a fellow. Since that's how this mess began, I refused. He failed to… "man up" and talk directly to "his patient".... Just bad on so many fronts. May I be struck dead if I ever treat a patient this way.

Dr.Ferrante is a world known physician per review but I do not recommend him to anyone. His primary interest is to do many pain shots on you to make profit and has no empathy for patients. He does not or can not do injection and has someone else to do pain shots and he just sit and do texting on cell phone.
