Fred Lenz is the A. Earl Walker Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University. He was educated at the University of Toronto where he a PhD in neurophysiology, an MD, a residency in neurosurgery, and a fellowship in functional neurosurgery with Ronald Tasker. He maintains a practice which includes a personal experience of >;25 years and 1,000 with implantation of Deep Brain Stimulating electrodes (Parkinson's, tremor, dystonia), and implantation cortical electrodes or resections for treatment of epilepsy. He has a >; 20 year history of NIH-funded research into these subjects and extensive experience as a scientific editor and reviewer. He has written over one hundred manucripts on these subjects and trained many fellows from around the world. There are few centers anywhere with this level of experience in the current environment.
