This A Great Dr.After many Dr.`s and many years of hospital after hospital and ambulance rides for a heart problem NO ONE ELSE could figure out, a friend reccomended I see Dr. Raad. So I went to him, Explained my symptoms,, and before I was finished he got up , went and got a card with a Heart specialist`s name on it. Told me I needed a Catheter Ablation. My Jaw dropped. He was right. had that done, 5 hours later I was home and no more problems. 14 Years now. The man saved my life! Litterally! I really do owe him my Life! Thank You DR. Raad!!!

 |  The Best doctor you could ever imagine......  |  show details
Aug 9th, 2011

Hi, there, I am so glad that I have an opportunity to review Dr. George Raad in this column.. Dr.Raad has been our family physician since 1997 for me and since 1992 for husband. Dr. Raad has been extremely thorough in each diagnosis for our visits and he is very caring to check on our family in each of our visits. Dr. Raad and his staff are the most friendly and welcoming team to the new patients. They are compassionate, empathetic, friendly in all of our visits. There is NO EXCEPTION.Dr. Raad is very helpful, understanding and accommodating on how we feel about the prescription and treatment. Dr. Raad is listening to all his patients in details and he is very caring in the diagnosis. He takes time and has the excellent bedside manner because he cares....If you are looking for a great doctor to be the Family Physician, Dr. Raad will be the best to fit the bill. After more than 14 years of expereince with Dr. Raad's practices, it is a true assessment from our family that Dr. Raad is the best doctor you could ever imagine....

it's rare to find a doctor that is proficient as a diagnosician...Dr. George Raad is that rare find! He dedicate his time to his Park Road Practice and Berryhill Practice -in addition to two offices -if he has a patient of his admitted to a hospital for another reason by another doctor he makes a point to stop by on his morning hospital rounds to say hello. This means he must ask each of the hospital on his morning rounds if any of their patients have him listed as their primary physician -at 5:00am..that over and above in today's medical climate! That has never happened with any other doctor i've had or known, if they weren't the admitting doctor i never saw them. He is a doctor's doctor, don't mistake his gentle manner and concern - for talking down to a patient. He's a listener -which is necessary in beginning the diagnosing. When was the last time you went to a doctor and he listened to you and encouraged you to google the condition to find out more. He is not intimidated by a patient researching his diagnosis. When Dr. Raad says, it's nothing don't worry. I've found I have nothing to worry about. He is the primary doctor for several of my family and friends. linda thomas

Great Dr. caring, helps in anyway he can making sure you get the proper treatment and medicine that YOU NEED. He listens to your needs, cares about your entire family and issues going on. Once that relationship has been built with the patient, He always remembers your name. He is a middle age man, but Dr's like the Dr. I had when I was a child (the old fashioned way")

 |  Have to Agree with Above Poster  |  show details
May 19th, 2010

Sadly, I have to agree with the poster above. I found his manner to be demeaning & offensive. I have heard of doctors with big egos but I have never met one until now. I was told he is an expert in the field of addiction. I, too, went to the detox center & was accepted into the program as I was told I met the criteria. At first my ins company told his office they would pay for this stay. However, partway thru the medical withdrawal process I was told the ins company was not going to pay after all as the ins company did not think I met the criteria. (I had a similar experience with a different insurance company regarding allergy testing.) Anyway, after he found this out he discharged me immediately. I find it odd as I know there were people there who had no ins at all. I am not a street junkie. I developed dependence as a result of having cancer twice & taking pain medication on a regular basis. I saw it was becoming an issue & action needed to be taken. While I was there, I asked him to look at some wounds from a recent surgery that did not seem to be healing properly (as his nurse suggested) in case they were infected though I knew it was not his forte. He told me he thought he could handle it. I thought he was making a joke at first. I did not mean to imply he did not know everything there is to know! After being told I was being discharged, he said he would write an rx for the withdrawal drug only if I went to outpatient treatment at his facility which was to start within a few hours. I felt ambushed. Now I was leaving immediately though I was expecting to stay for a week. I told him I needed time to find out if my insurance company would pay for THAT treatment among other things. He got right in my face and quoted some AA saying about putting off treatment, then left the room. I am to make an appt with him in a week or I wont get any more of the withdrawal drug. It was as if it were a carrot he was dangling in my face. I do not CARE if I have that drug or not. I just want to get thru the withdrawal safely. I am now in the middle of active opiates withdrawal. I am now in the middle of medicated, active withdrawal with a muddled mind trying to figure out what I should do now. I know I should not have driven home. I will not be making an appt with him. I feel very uncomfortable around this man. If something happens to me I hope my family sues.

My family have been patients of Dr Raad over 25 years. He has correctly diagnosed and successful treated all. I have since over the years realized many of the people I know in the community see him also. I personally have seen him for 20 years, During this time I have had some serious complicated problems. Dr. Raad has brought me through, never stopping until he figured the problem out. He is resourceful in the community and never hesitates to research and call in anyone that can help. He is passionate, caring, understanding and "stands up for his patient`s". I would recommend him to anyone needing a "SUPER DR." in the Charlotte area. He and his staff are EXCELLENT, KIND and RESPECTFUL. I put my complete trust and care totally in his Family Practice.

I have been a patient for several years but the last 5 appointments and trying to get them when I was very sick was a horrid nightmare. Dr. Raad is a wonderful doctor and very good at diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and knows when to send you to a specialist. The problem is getting through his reception staff who is extremely rude, ill-mannered and unprofessional. I have had them hang up the phone , repeatedly , (by accident) and finally got through to a nurse and had her to schedule me in for an appointment. I have sat in the waiting room for almost an hour after getting there 40 minutes early and almost faint and not have the reception people contact the nurses. I have heard unkind comments the reception staff has made during checkout about people on the phone or sitting in the waiting room. I suggest that Dr. Raad hires other reception people who are courteous and hire people who like working in a busy surrounding. Dr. Raad is a wonderful doctor and so are his nurses and Assistant Physicians...it's his reception staff that is the problem.

After I turned 40 everything about my health went south. Dr. Raad was my father's doctor so I got to know him well.During the final months of my fathers life no one could have been better and more understanding of our families needs. He has been my doctor for 13 years now and I have had to see many specialist. Dr. Raad is by far the best doctor in Charlotte. Always accurate with his care and rarely do I have to wait but if I do I know it's because he is extending extra care to someone who needs it at that time. One day that could be me.

I would not recommend going to see Dr. Raad for any pt seeking help with a substance abuse problem. I went to a local detox unit in desparate need of help for my addiction. When I saw Dr. Raad, he was not only inconsiderate and innatentive, but rude and belittling. I was discharged from the facility after 5 days of considerable illness. I was unable to eat those 5 days DT uncontrollable nausea, he refused to treat my nausea my entire stay. I have had to continue to go to his office for presciption pick up and my treatment from him hasn`t changed. He doesn`t care about the efforts I`ve put forth to my recovery. He treats me more like a seeking junkie, than a pt in recovery. He`s condescending and rude, and I will not continue to see him for any medical needs.
