he is on the take from the insurance companies apparently for the right price he will put ANYTHING into a form especially when it come to workers comp he is owned by them and does whatever they say

Hands down the best surgeon I have experienced in my life. I have been to and seen many being both a victim of low back issues and also working in the industry. Dr Maxwell is very specific, cautious and not about un-necessary surgeries which unfortunately is all too common in many clinics. His staff is great, caring and very knowledged. Being in the industry I would only go to Dr James Maxwell myself after seeing hundreds of others.

Insurance hack! Beware! Piece of human debris, will burn you for money.

Oh, you non-believers and haters. This is a Great and Highly intelligent man, who shoots straight from the hip. And to the dude w/ the toothpick remard, Doc Maxwell does things for a REASON!! Did you take the time to see the mags on his office wall, who'd face did you see?? Anybody who has the chance to have Doc Maxwell should feel blessed.. His philosophy is " Let's try alternate routes" B4 making the decision to start cutting!! Surgery is the LAST option, with him, I've talked to Doc Maxwell quite a few times and his Asst Rob also, Rob "San Diego " boy like me, and let"s not forget about the long haired Doc, his Partner. You go to Doc M, you get a TEAM, who all strive toward one common goal. Make You Better!! Sorry for going on and on, You need to get to know the man, And NO I'm not related to him.Thanks Doc M. A worthless opinion clearly in the pocket of the insurance company and is not giving a biased opinion. He misrepresents the truth and is not ethicical!

Had a workman’s comp injury to my back. Pain started shooting down my leg & foot, to the point I had no sensation & cant even stand on my toes. If I wear tied shoes for more than 45 minutes my foot swells up. Dr. Maxwell, had me in his office for 5 minutes. He took a toothpick and poked me all over my numb leg & foot. I told him I couldn’t feel a thing. 2 days later he tells my case worker to clear me and go back to work with no restrictions. Dr. Yelled @ me when I sat in the wrong chair in his office while I waited 45 minutes. Complete A hole.

Dr. James Maxwell, his P. A., Robert, and the rest of his staff were helpful, responsive and compassionate. Dr. Maxwell recommended PT for me, not surgery or anything invasive such as injections. That told me he has his patients' best interest at heart.

I saw Dr. Maxwell about 16 years ago after a dozen doctors in California just wanted to push pain pills at me. They all said I needed a disc replacement which was not approved in the US at that time. 20/20 ran a segment on Doctors in the US that the FDA had approved to do test cases in disc replacement and Dr. Maxwell was one of only 14 and the ONLY ONE who would see me!! I was close to suicidal from being in so much pain for 4 years + and I had 2 small girls so would not take pain medication. All I ended up needed was a fusion, NOT disc replacement and I have been pain free ever since! He is truly a miracle worker!!! I was recently in a car accident where a drunk driver totaled my car and Dr. Maxwell is the ONLY DOCTOR I will see for my back so will be flying back to AZ for another consult.

I had a workers comp claim denied by this fraud. I read his report, and there are only three logical conclusions: he had me mixed up with someone else (highly disturbing for a surgeon); he takes poor notes (again, highly disturbing for a surgeon), OR he is a LIAR. His report contained countless inaccuracies, misquotes, and was a blatant lie. Let's face it - he is a SELL OUT - he is sent by a company whose sole purpose is to deny WC claims (or "cost savings" as they claim) with his LIES. How is it not a conflict of interest for a "doctor" to take payment to deny treatment??? Now I am here with a permanent injury that I still miss work from FOUR YEARS LATER, yet this quack claims there is nothing wrong with me. Oh yeah, not to mention he tried to insult me personally as an "introduction" when we met. I would not let him touch an invertebrate or roadkill.

Thank you thank you thank you! Most amazing Dr I've ever met. He helped me beyond belief. I couldn't move my head, constant head aches, pain in arms. His surgery for my neck changed my life. Thank you!
