Dr. Janet Delores Heasley, DO

I had an initial visit for an evaluation. In under one hour she gave me a diagnoses of OCD, PTSD and ADD. The ADD diagnoses was based upon a single piece of paper with maybe a dozen questions on it. She then immediately prescribed three highly addictive medications which I find odd for a doctor whose main area of expertise is treating patients with addiction. She did not explain anything concerning the diagnoses she gave, she did not explain anything concerning the medications she prescribed. Upon researching the medications myself I discovered they were not to be taken by anyone with a heart condition such as myself. I called her office about this concern and it took more than a week to get a call back at which point I was told to stop the medication. Thankfully I was smart enough to do my own due diligence and not start them in the first place as there is no telling what could have happened to me during that week had I taken them solely on her advice. I never went back after this and… ultimately found another Psychiatrist. Oddly enough when the new Psychiatrist found out I had seen this doctor, she knew who she was and stated the woman is incompetent and should not have her own practice. I wholeheartedly agree!

I have been in the medical field for 11 years. Not a single moment in all of my career had I ever violated the privacy of my, or any other patient. From within the first 10 minutes of my first session with this Dr., she had already made HIPPA violations against 2 of her regular patients directly to me. Finally I had to state thst I thought it was innapropriate because she had told me specific diagnosis, medications and medical history. After 4 sessions I had lost most respect and have not been back.

Dr. Heasley changed my life and helped me to find it within myself to do what I needed to do. She has a wonderfully wry sense of humour, nothing seems to phase her and I wish I could still see her as I no longer live in MI. She stuck with me through thick and thin.

The doctor told me that relationships don't ever last more than 2 years you can't love somebody for more than 2 years and then went on to explain how she came to that conclusion based on her experiences with her parents.

Dr. Is pretty good office staff is terrible was given wrong appointment times and turned away by doctor more than once because of it also found issues with billing being charged for things that never happened as well as outrageous fees for the drug testing charged my insurance $1,500 to test a urine sample and then want me to pay a hundred on top of it...what??

just plain fantastic! Caring and compassionate and just plain relaxing to work with! Just wish her staff was a bit better returning phone calls...

She gave me a wrong diagnosis,and kept arguing it is correct,she started telling about things I do not have.She does not seem to know a lot about psychiatry.I will never see this doctor again

This Dr is absolutely horrible and irresponsible. She has very bizarre practices and likes to prescribe anti seizure medications for anxiety disorderders and panic attacks. I have seen her myself and she does not seem interested in hearing about my problems and has never offered any sound advice. took my daughter to her and she treated her horribly. My husband has been seeing her for approximately 5 months. he takes Xanax for severe panic attacks that have sent him to the hospital on several occasions. he had a recent appointment with her and she just all the sudden decided to put him on phenobarbital for panic attacks. and just stop his Xanax for no apparent reason . she knows he is very sensitive to new medications . Why would a Dr change something for no reason that was working just fine ? Besides as an RN I think it is very bizzare to prescribe anti seizure medications to a patient for panic attacks ! also knowing that a medication like phenobarbital requires very close blood… monitoring she just gave him a 2 months supply and ordered no blood work or follow up monitoring. very irresponsible . he has left 4 messages to discuss the medication with her and she has never returned his calls . he also suffers from severe sleep apnea and this is the number 1 contraindication for this med. very irresponsible and dangerous practice. we will be finding a new Dr. outside of her Ortonville office she works for recovery pathways with drug addicts . I think she allows that to spill over into her hometown practice in Ortonville. Not everyone who requires a medication like Xanax to control panic attacks is a drug addict .
