When files at the office were paper files, all seem to be okay. They were transferred to electronic and it seems all my history isn't in the file like it should be. Have an MS exacerbation, went in to doc Abad for help. He didn't check my reflexes, my eyes or anything. And instead of prescribing me my Baclofen for spasm's, he presbribed me a med that the PA prescribed me a cpl mos. prior for a couple stress points in my back not related to MS only because he didn't see my normal Baclofen history in his electronic file. I am sleeping about an hr a night due to spasticity in my body. Severe pain and doc made me feel like I was a criminal for asking for my meds for coping purposes due to my MS flare up only because it wasn't in his electronic file system!! I am not a criminal, just a person who wants some relief. Imagine having charlie horse cramping sensations through your body with no relief! I'm sure he wouldn't let his mother suffer like this!! The meds the PA didn't even help with the stress spots on my back a few months ago, let alone helping with a full blown exacerbation! But it was only medicine listed in my ELECTRONIC CHART!! He used to be good at caring, now he's cold and put off that people need legitimate care. Then, my Synthroid level was supposed to be 175mcg and I took in the letter that my cancer doc gave me to give to him stating that and they even copied it... He said in his ELECTONIC CHART it shows I'm on 150mcg's and wouldn't give me the dose I need to supress my cancer properly!! I've lost all faith in him. Used to love him, now it's all black and white on a computer screen and if you say anything to go against what's on that computer, your a liar.
Impossible to get a real person to talk to, even when phones ARE working. Alot of people muttling around with no sense of urgency for patients. Very little or no follow up. Would be a great doc if he had better staff, better office when they were smaller.
Dr. Abad is the best doctor my family has ever had. We have referred approx 15 patients who have referred others. He is caring, genuine and gentle, has a personality and a sense of humor. He is smart. Explains everything, answers questions and spends as much time as necessary. Sometimes you might have to wait a bit longer to get into the back but I dont mind that because he is taking care of everyone as he sees fits, meeting his patients needs. I cant say enough about Dr. Abad. If you need a doctor, I would totally reccommend him. Thanks Dr Abad for making my husband's illnesses easier for me to handle.
I got an appointment to see Dr.Abad easily but it was awful from the start at my initial appt i had to wait over an hour and a half to see him then i had to leave to go to work so was unable to even see a doctor. I asked to get routine bloodwork done and he filed it incorectly although I specifically told him exactly what I wanted and my insurance covered and has been over 2 months in me correcting this and he also laughed inappropriately during my physical and it made me very uncomfortable. The front office was very nice and prompt and Dave in billing was very helpful and clear but I will never be back to see Dr.Abad.
he and robertson and samadder are now on w.main st in newark oh.as the years have gone by his unwillingness to "refer" patients to specialist outside of mt. carmel st. anns has caused an anomousity ..seems they prefer a low price high volume approch to medicinecloser to thee old folks farm means more patients ? right? and oh.. good luck in choosing a doc for specialized feilds .)unless of course its mt. carmel or st. anns physicians
Dr. Abad is wonderful. I'm someone who has never liked going to a doctor. Doctors in the past have always seemed too cold and clinical to me - I don't mind being told how to improve my health, but please don't treat me like a child. Dr. Abad is not at all like this. He is friendly and open to conversation. He is understanding of the cost of tests and prescriptions and is mindful of such when suggesting treatment. I feel very lucky to have finally found a doctor I feel comfortable with. I could not recommend Dr. Abad more.
I've been going to Dr Abad for years and he takes the time to listen about my problems and he doesn't rush me out the office. He has a awesome and caring bedside manner and I would recommend him to anyone. The only complaint that I have is his office used to be located on 21st in newark oh and now its located next to licking memorial hospital on west main street and everytime I try to make a appointment I can't get in until 2 weeks later sometimes longer but when he was at the 21st location I can get in the next day. Dr Abad and Dr Robertson's office has a big sign outside in front of their new office stating they are accepting new patients. Which is a good thing for business but I think there should be a limit on how many they accept in a month. Instead of waiting 2 weeks to see him I just go to newark urgent care.
Dr Abad has a great bedside manner. He's good at making you feel at ease, no matter what has brought you into the office - a routine visit, a minor illness or a scary unknown problem. He spends time talking to you on a personal level and asking you questions about yourself and the issue that brought you in. He remembers details from your last visit and personal things about you. He's good at making a diagnosis and answering questions about treatments. If you don't agree with a treatment and want to try something else, he won't force a treatment or medication onto you. If he's unsure about something, he'll say so and refer to a specialist when appropriate instead of trying to fake his way through it. I'm very pleased with Dr Abad and he's been my Doctor for 2 1/2 years. I'm glad I found him when I moved to Newark.
john abad is a very optomistic and caring doctor w/ a pretty good staff..my only critisism is he has a tendenct not to second guess a radiologist report..he is great w/ children.. quick witted and sharp !!
