Dr. Fenyk is an excellent, knowledgeable, competent, and caring doctor. I highly recommend him.

When I think of Dr Fenyk I just cringe! When I was a patient of his through a referral from my family physician for acne he would give me medication to start, then recommend facial creme to cleanse with etc. Now I did not help myself either but yelling at me loud enough for patients in the waiting room to hear in addition to having an intern with him is NOT compassionate nor professional! I of course never saw him again

While Dr. Fenyk has a somewhat gruff demeanor, he appears to be a completely competent clinician.What I cannot get my mind around is that he refuses to communicate (even though his office staff would be responsible for most of it) by email!! The U of M Physicians medical group has a wonderful system in place where patient questions are speedily answered by each clinician's "team". Dr. Fenyk asserts that it is a confidentiality issue. It is not. Most cutting edge medical systems in the US have this option, with no legal ramifications. One is left wondering, why?? Whatever the real reason (stubbornness? inability? laziness?), I wouldn't recommend him for this minor reason. I wouldn't hesitate to see one of his UMP colleagues, but I will be sure to ask up front if email is something the clinician uses.....

Made a huge mistake on my diagnosis of melanoma....I do not recommend this Doctor....

Dr Fenyk is an exceptional doctor. He takes the time to explain in understandable termms his diagnosis, recommended treatment and any qualifty of life issues. He is a caring individual and truly dedicated to providing quality medical care.

My doctor referred me to Dr. Fenyk to check out a possible melanoma. It wasn't a melanoma, thank god, so I only saw him one time. But I was really impressed with him. He's an older doctor, but he is so present, focussed and caring. I felt really attended to. So many doctors seem like their whole mind is on how fast they can get out the door. Not so with him. I felt he was really paying attention to me. If I ever have any real skin problems, I hope he's not retired already.
