Dr. Kenneth Barry Porter, MD

We love dr porter. From day 1 our son has been very well cared for. My son was born on the Tuesday before the coldest week of the year. We were discharged on a Thursday. When we called to get his first appointment scheduled dr porter ask if we could come in Monday. Then immediately said no it's too cold why dont you come now so you dont have to bring him out in negitive weather. He rearranged his schedule just for us. The office is a little out dated but very kid friendly. The second we sat with dr porter we knew we he was the right choice for us. As first time parents we didn't have a clue what we were doing and he was so supportive and informative it really put us at ease. At 6 weeks old my little got the flu and at 7 weeks the stomach virus. Needless to say we spent the first 8 weeks getting to know dr porter really well and we love him.

While Dr. Porter was very attentive and personable during our first visit, my wife had informed Dr. Porter that we did NOT want our child immunized with the flu shot for this upcoming winter. He proceeded to ask why, and when we gave our reasons and why we did not believe in them, he gave a long speech as to why he believed in it (which was fine...it is a doctor's duty to educate). But when we respectfully declined, he proceeded to get aggravated and continued to ask us "why"? And when our reasons were given again, he did not accept those reasons to be valid and continued to aggressively state his reasons for why we should, continually asking us "why"?. This interaction lasted for about 3 uncomfortable minutes. After we said no for the last time, he gave our child the required vaccinations that we came in to begin with, and left the room in a much different mood then when he first entered. It is a doctors duty to not only educate, but to RESPECT the patients wishes and not… demean them when given. We felt as if Dr. Ken Porter crossed a line of disrespect while treating our child and interacting with us as parents. This is clearly a violation of a doctors duty to what they are called to practice. Also upon reading other reviews, there was another post in here that stated the shots were already out on the table, and that they had removed them from the packaging before we entered. This was also the case for us, which doesn't give security to sanitizing practices. We kindly ask for a change in the way that Dr. Ken Porter accepts parents feedback.

My daughter and grandson love Dr. Porter. No fear of the Dr. with him. His staff is all very kind and courtious. He is a little bit of a drive for me , but we'll worth it.

Everyone there are sweet and nice.
