Dr. Mary Campbell, MD

I paid a $30 copay to see this doctor at an urgent care. She conducted a strep test on me and told me it was negative. I have white leathery parches all over my throat, a fever, dizziness, weakness, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, and NO sinus drainage. This was a Friday evening and by Sunday evening after doing what I was "instructed" to do ( take Tylenol or ibuprofen and use throat spray) I felt way worse. I called telenurse to see if they could advise me to do anything else and they told me to go to the emergency room. Feeling like an absolute idiot because I have a sore throat but desperate to get back on my two feet I went to the emergency room. The doctor there told me I most definitely was misdiagnosed and that all doctors should know that all strep tests including cultures only are 50% accurate and sometimes you just have to go by the patients symptoms including the presence of someone's throat covered in WHITE PATCHES. It is now Tuesday and thankfully to the doctor in the… emergency room im finally seeking relief with an antibiotic. I have a job, a two year old, and I have a life I have to get back to. Spending nearly 4 days in bed, only getting up to use the restroom over an extremely contagious infection would be absolutely impossible without my husband. Some do not have this luxury and im blessed however I do believe it is absolutely ridiculous I had to go to the emergency room to get a strep diagnosis! Hopefully, my insurance company finds it medically necessary to cover this trip to the emergency room or she will be footing the bill! Not to mention this doctor is completely inadequate she rushed me through my entire appointment, spoke to me like an idiot when asked her questions and she cut me off several times. I will be calling the office to see what I can do about forwarding this information, I wish I could ask for my $30 back.
