Dr. Mary E Rausch, MD

I've been with Dr. Rausch for a while unfortunately because they won't let me switch doctors. She is ALWAYS in a rush. She does not spend more than 1 whole minute explaining a very long process. Her nurses do not always understand her reasoning behind a protocol so they are unable to explain why the doctor chose a certain protocol or the reasoning behind any of her decisions so it's pointless to ask them detailed questions...and Dr. Rausch will never get on the phone to answer a question and she does not answer emails. It's like she is above talking to patients unless they are there in front of her and she is able to bill for it. Also, she delays the whole IVF process so she can schedule extra 2-4 visits in between which she can bill for. When I first had my appointment with her, I truly believed her and thought she was empathetic and cared about me as a patient. Then over time I realized she could care less and it is literally about billing the patient and their insurance and milking… it as much as possible. Even Dr. Hershlag who was the previous medical director and had less ethics than Dr. Rausch did not even do this to his patients. Also, NO ONE answers the phone- not the nurses, not Latarsha in billing after sending a nice hefty bill, or the front desk. BUT they always bill promptly. Time to switch from Northwell and go to NYU or Gold Coast IVF who has better success rates and gives much better care and actually answers their phones. I'm truly disgusted and disappointed in Northwell and will never refer anyone here...and believe me, there are a number of my family members and friends who are looking into this process and I would never want them to go through what I went through.

Very Bad Doctor. Doesn't have time for her patiences, always in a rush. STAY AWAY

I was recommended to another doctor but chose Dr. Rausch by default do to compatibility with my work schedule. When I met with her she was very fast and annoyed if I did not understand something. I never knew what was happening or why and never new what to expect next. If i tried to participate in my treatment options she became annoyed. She said to me miss you must get your prolactin levels checked, we this treatment, that treatment, this pill, that injection to trigger. I said can you slow down and talk to me. Now I gave never tried toget pregnant before. I would like to move from least aggressive to most aggressive gradually. Trying to remain positive and boost my confidence and following my internal instinct I said "I sure I can get pregnant". She said " well if you could do that then you wouldn't be here would you". WOW! I said "How dare you, I've never even tried I'm here because of my age so I need some guidance. I left for 6 months due to her. When I recovered swallowed… my prode and returned I saw the Dr. Cohen who was the MD I was supposed to see in the first place, I have to request personal time of or call in sick to accommodate his appointments. IT'S worth it!! She's terrible.

Throughout my entire cycle I saw Dr Rausch Approximately 3x which includes my consult and egg retrieval day. In one visit I waited to see her in the exam rm & was told she said there’s no need for her to see me, I can see the nurses. She was always very fast and the impression that she had to get to the next Pt was evident. After my egg retrieval she never came to speak to me and I had to ask how many were retrieved. I was never fully explained what to expect after my retrieval and had to ask outside providers to guide me along the process because it’s very difficult getting someone at the office on the phone. When Dr Rausch gave me the news that my embryos were abnormal she had a smile on her face (probably unknowingly) but it still had a lasting memory as a pt that just underwent her first cycle and it to end with abnormal embryos. Overall I did not have a a good experience!

Still working through the infertility kinks...Thus far, Dr Rausch is pleasant, seem to know her stuff and very detailed oriented. I am already getting a lot of questions answered.... I am glad I didnt cancel my appointment after reading the negative reviews online. You rock Dr. Rausch!

Dr. Rausch has been such a blessing, she has made me feel so comfortable and has put my doctors office anxiety at ease! I actually saw her because my regular doctor was off, but I had such a great experience with her, that I formally switched doctors. Our road to having a baby has been really stressful and sad, but after speaking to Dr. Rausch, we have a set plan, are informed, and feel like we're in such good hands. My husband and I are so happy with her, and would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a fertility specialist.

Angela , Dr. Mary Rausch secretary is the most unprofessional, rude and useless doctor's secretary you will ever have to deal with in your lifetime! Dr. Rausch is never accessible over the phone. Having her as a doctor is like having no doctor at all and when you make an appointment to go see her, they make you wait over an hour after your appointment time. Also she does not provide detailed instructions. She is always in a rush and it looks like the comunication between her and her staff is 0 since she will tell you her staff will do certain things and will get back to you and then doesn't tell the staff what to do. You end up wasting precious time.

Overall, my experience with Dr. Rausch was very positive. I saw her in both the Queens and Manhasset locations. Yes, she is a busy person, but if I needed answers she was as thorough as she could be. After 7 IUI's and 3 rounds of clomid, I am now 9 weeks pregnant. I am 39 and her other colleagues at LIJ were pushing IVF due to my age, but Mary never pressured us and it was always up to me and my husband. Mary has a professional demeanor but always had a smile when she saw us and never gave up. I wasn't expecting a touchy-feely doctor. I expected a Fertility Specialist at the top of her game to help us conceive and that is what we got. Bless her and the important work she does. I would have given her a positive review even if I didn't get pregnant and would recommend her to anyone struggling.

Mary E. Rausch, M.D. is the worse doctor I have every met. I will never forget how she made feel so unimportant. She also made me feel very hopeless(constantly telling me that my uterus was really bad) . She also gossiped about my medical condition to another physician that did not work in her office. She is very unprofessional and she was always in a rush to get to her next patient. I ended up going to another doctor and got pregnant!! Now I have a beautiful baby boy no thanks to her. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE!!!

Can't say enough great things about Dr. Rausch! She did my retrieval today and not only did she get 14 eggs while dealing with a fibroid that obstructed the view (btw, I'm 39) I felt no pain at all afterwards! Didn't so much as take a Tylenol! She is informative and takes time to explain in detail. She really made me feel positive prior to the procedure. She is sharp and talented! I would recommend her to anyone that needs IVF!!
