Dr. Matthew Joseph Marano, MD

Had cataract surgery on my right eye 73 days,7 hours,50 minutes ago. I have had in that eye an increasing 24/7 dull ache, headache pain, a discomforting glare in light, at dusk there are starburst rings appearing in the eye that was cut and a new Clareon lens shoved in on 10/6, distracting moving dots and a strange film move across my eye with each eye movement ever since.I have tried to impart the discomfort, disappointment and debilitating aspects these complications have had on my life.I have been patient as my complaints were dismissed as needing healing in the first two follow up visits. I was met with sarcastic derision by the surgeon, Dr Matthew Marano, on the next 2 visits, after lengthy waits and respectfully imparting the daily visual&pain issues that developed after the cataract surgery. In a desperate need for relief,I inquired about possible reason I researched. That was met with resentment, sarcasm and no answers. I have followed up with a retina doctor, as suggested.As… advised,by Medicare I should return to this surgeon for his final assessment and recourse for the eye problems I have after his surgery. I am taking the prescription drops from pre operation to quell the eye pain.The night glare in driving has worsened and the eye ache radiates from my right eyeup my forehead and down my cheek. I forgive the prideful ignorance of the doctor when faced with this complication from his surgwry.But I need help to remedy it.All patients,even with this simple monofocal iol lens replacement in cataract surgery, should be advised of complications. I can read an eye chart better! I seek relief and I seek a doctor to care about the pain and vision issues that are a result of the operation performed on Oct 6th. May Our Lord move to heal me and no other soul be treated so cruelly after cataract surgery.Gaslighting patients is shameful.

Had my laser assisted cataract surgery six months ago, and I am incredibly happy with the results. I did opt for the top-of-the-line lenses, and Dr. Marano also used the laser to correct my severe astigmatism. Additionally, this support staff (physicians, technicians and clerical) are top notch. I went from someone who left her glasses on the bedtable each night, to driving without corrective lenses, watching television and attending the theater. I do require a slight magnification (those over-the-counter kind) when working at the computer. Highly recommended the Marano Eye Care Center.

I would not ever referred Dr. Marano to anyone I had cataract surgery which went astray I went back to him and he fluffed it off as did his other doctor associate Dr. Rana he could care less about his patients if he spent two minutes with me that was a lot. Needless to say I am now under the care of another ophthalmologist who cares about his patients. He made no effort to try and correct the problem that he created so therefore I had no other choice but to go to another ophthalmologist.
