Dr. Mercedes Cerda Chapa, MD

Parents beware. Dr Chapa is the worst pediatrician my kids have ever seen. We have lived all over the country due to my husbands job and I’ve never met such a self-righteous, disrespectful, and neglectful provider. My kids have been sick with different strains of flu and colds for 4 months. I had previously taken them to urgent care and I was following up because they’re even more sick now and she told me that there’s nothing she can do. She wouldn’t test my child by swabbing him, she wouldn’t send him to get another X-ray even though they told me at the urgent care that he has bronchitis and he is now visibly worse than he was when I took him to urgent care. She’s ridiculous, she made him jump around and cough many times when he’s visibly ill and not in the best condition to jump around. Needless to say I told her that being there was a waste of time because she wouldn’t even tell me what to give him over the counter. She refused to prescribe anything for my son even though she… herself told me that he’s wheezing. She then proceeded to tell me that I wasted her time, Uh... no! You’re definitely not wasting your time by seeing my son because you’re getting paid by my insurance for a ridiculous visit. She also said that she wouldn’t let my son get another X-ray because of radiation. I then proceeded to tell her that there’s radiation everywhere, cell phones, iPads, computers, in your router.. it’s everywhere! You can’t escape it unless you live out in the country without any electronics. This lady is beyond out of her mind. I don’t understand how she’s practicing medicine this way. She needs to climb off her high horse and stop acting as if we’re there to ask for drugs. We’re there for our sick children, for medicine. When you became a doctor it was to help people not for power over medicine.

I miss and liked Dr. Chapa, we had her and we got kicked out of her office due to insurance. They do not accept medi-cal. I wish she did. After that its been much harder to find a good doctor for my son. Anyone lucky to have her. Im hoping to not have medi-cal some day so i can have her back as my kids provider. If not ill just keep looking for the right one.

Dr. Chapa was rude,sarcastic and did not ask about my child’s symptoms. She made it clear a mother isn’t an expert on their child and then hung up on me. I’d never take a child to such an insentive doctor. Furthermore my child does have an ear infection and did need a r(x).

Dr.chapa was working at sanger united health center. Does any one know where she is now??

Outstanding doctor who is among the best

Dr Chapa was practicing at Adventist health in sanger CA, however she has moved again and there is no information as to her new practice. If someone knows please post as she is an amazing doctor.

Dr Chapa has been my our pediatrician for at least 10 years and she has been great my kids love her. The only thing is she no longer at her office anymore and there is no info on her new office.Does anyone have an idea

My kids have been with Dr Chapa since my daughter was 16mths old and my boys since They where Born. one is 11 almost 12 and my other son is 6. She is the best doctor and the only doctor i trust for my children. I am really glad that my kids have her as thier doctor. Thank you sooo much for everything you have done for my children.

I have been taking my 13 month old twins since they were born > My daughter has suffer from many medical conditions and she has always been able to explain everything directly to me. SHE IS GREAT.
