Dr. Michael S Brodherson, MD

I wish I could give Dr. Brodherson more than four stars; he has every quality that a patient could want in a physician: professional excellence, warmth, exceptional availability, responsiveness, etc. Unfortunately, at a recent visit I learned that he had opted out of Medicare, making it impossible (and unaffordable) for me to continue our relationship. Although I know that there are other excellent urologists in Manhattan, I did not anticipate having to "shop around" and doubt that I will find the same compatibility and trust that I have enjoyed with Dr. B.

A fabulous doctor that came in to the OR in the middle of the night for an unexpected surgery! Followed up, and gave me his cell # to contact him if there were any problems or questions. He is very compassionate, knowledgeable, and I highly recommend him!!!

I was admitted to the ER, sent home with a kidney stone diagnosis and told to follow up with Dr. Brodherson in two days. I had significant pain the next day and left a message with his office, which he returned immediately and asked me to come see him as soon as I could. 15 min later I was in the office speaking with him. Dr. Brodherson wrote me a script and told me to call him in a few hours if I was not feeling better. He also told me to call him in the middle of the night if I felt I needed to go to the ER and he would call ahead and make sure I was admitted and things were taken care of. I did call him at 2 am and he made good on his word. I had surgery later that day. My follow up care with Dr. Brodherson has been just as great. He makes himself available for his patients at all times and is incredibly reassuring. I'm not glad to have had a kidney stone or surgery, but I am very glad I had him as my doctor.

A remarkable physician treating a disease and a condition that could end my life. This is the man I would choose above all others. He is also a compassionate man and I believe a humanist with interests that transcend his medical practice. The only other comment is that there have been some issues with insurance, frustrating, but nonetheless a price to pay when placed against his skills.
