Dr. Mukesh Kapoor, MD

Dr Kapoor is a nice guy but seems to be on a script about CPAP and compliance and CBT and cannot he shifted from that despite my repeated requests for him to research the rare condition I have that causes dysautonomia. Further his response to my question about my sleep becoming even more erratic and disrupted possibly being related to menopause is that he’s, that can be an issue. After a repeat study that I requested bec I was sure any apnea was due to opiate meds he admitted that the apnea events were minimal and that my sleep/restlessness was so bad they could only record one 2-hour cycle the entire night and zero REM sleep. Despite all this the answer was still keep using the CPAP and make sure you don’t look at your clock at night because that can make You stressed and keep you awake. Since being transferred from dr. Israel, who was really investigative about how each individual was affected by their sleep problems and how it was disrupting daily life, and since he retired, it… feels like the center is just a CPAP mill. Receptionists are unhelpful and don’t return calls. Phones go to messaging at 3:30 instead of 4pm. I’m not sure what’s falling apart at this place but it seems to be worse each time I go. They must be getting some share of CPAP profits bec everyone I know who has been has said they feel like from the minute they walked in they were Destined to get a CPAP no matter what. Also very very hard to return equipment so you can stop paying monthly cost.
