Dr. Nancy Schecter, MD

I went to see Dr. Schecter due to numbness and tingling. She ran a battery of tests. I was told over the phone by either a nurse or the receptionist/office manager that I had MS. A few days later I called back and the person who answered the phone in a perturbed manner wanted to know why I was calling back. I said I was told I had MS and that I was calling back to find out what the next step was. The person said I would probably need another MRI but this time with contrast. Long story short, MRI with contrast will not find brain lesions, but will show if any brain lesions that showed up on MRI without contrast were active. I went to another neurologist who told me that the diagnosis if MS was "preposterous". Looking back, tingling, numbness can be signs of menopause. Please, avoid going to this doctor. Her office threw the diagnosis of MS around like I was being told I had a sore throat.

Dr Schecter is a very caring and kind person, very interested in your needs and problems. would highly recommend her.

Found her to be very rude. Doesn't seem to want to listen to her patients. Acts as if patients are just idiots and she's the "all knowing" high and might doctor.

I transferred to Dr. Schecter from a huge group of Neurologists where I felt like "just an account number", after a MVA resulting in brain surgery & seizures. Her care has been absolutely exceptional! Her eval is totally complete...and included addressing my physical and emotional aspects while respecting my own thoughts & fears with regard to my own care. She is a one doctor office which affords a caring, personal approach from both her and her awesome staff. Her staff go the extra mile to work with my sometimes difficult insurance company, offer support & make timely appointments when difficult situations arise. They also greet you by name and remember details from your previous appointments, demonstrating both knowledge and concern about your personal progress (without having to refer to your chart). Dr. Schecter makes sure that you are an active part of your own medical plan with concise evaluations, journaling and intelligent individual treatment plans. She works well with… my primary MD and my other providers. My full eval was complete and sent to my primary MD's computer within 24 hours...good luck getting that with any other MD! Quality, intelligence and personal attention... When bad things happen in life, Dr. Schecter & her dedicated staff respectfully assist with helping the patient gain independence and control while coming to terms with their "new reality". I cannot recommend this Dr. and her staff highly enough!

My experience with Dr. Schecter is fantastic! She is completely focused on determining the medical reason/diagnosis of her patients symptoms. She is straight to the point and very matter of fact - as she should be! Those whom have rated her as insensitive and not compassionate should see a therapist. I appreciate the fact that she is an expert in her field and people should realize the reason for seeing her is to identify the problem - not be inefficient and distracted with the 'warm fuzzies'. I would recommend her to EVERYONE!
