Dr. Nick M Ungson, MD

I wish there was a no star rating. Antiquated. When you pull up to the building, it looks vacant. That is the first impression, drive away.

This man has 100+ one-star reviews across different websites for a reason. I wish I had listened. He was extremely rude; any time he would ask me a question he would immediately start talking over me. The 10 minute session ended with me being told "I can't help you", being given a list of other practices in the area, and ushered out. Also the front staff lost my written prescription within a minute of Ungson passing it off to them as I checked out. If you are referred to this doctor I recommend cancelling and requesting a different referral from your provider, or looking up some others in the area yourself.

Doesn't listen to patient concerns or complaints and pushes medications and blames patients for problems with medication. Very rushed appointments, very rude and no compassion. Waste of time and money.

I saw Dr. Ungson on 8/5. I was going through withdrawal from Atavan, which he did not acknowledge. He took a brief history, prescribed something then stood up. He did not let me speak, got agitated when I said I did not want another drug until my system was cleared of Atavan. I asked for something for sleep as we were leaving the next day for our son's wedding in CO. He said no, opened the door to leave. He was not compassionate, even rude. I cancelled my next appointment. I would not recommend him.

This Dr. used a DNA test that he said identifies the correct medication for the condition. You have to wait weeks before getting the results - which prolongs psychological suffering. The resulting medication he prescribed was totally wrong, which I knew because it made my condition worse. After many weeks of worsening, I sought and found a different, competent Psychiatrist who confirmed the medication that Dr. Ungson prescribed not only caused the very bad side effects it gave me, but was not even recommended for my condition. The new, good Psychiatrist also stated that the DNA test that Dr. Ungson used is NOT designed to identify which medication to put a patient on, but simply indicates how a patient metabolizes various medications. The new, good Psychiatrist who I was now seeing quickly tapered me off the medication Dr. Ungson had me on and immediately put me on the correct medication and it instantly worked well. Within a week I was feeling well again, and have remained… well. I called Dr. Ungson's office and spoke to the nurse and explained all the above to her, and asked her to tell Dr. Ungson, in order to prevent other patients from suffering as I did because of Dr. Ungson. The nurse was defensive and indicated Dr. Ungson had treated me properly, which he absolutely had NOT. He caused me great suffering. Additionally, Dr. Ungson was always in an extreme rush, rushing you in and out of his office in 15 minutes. He was also angry, rude, and snapped at me when I tried to tell him the medication was making me feel worse or when I asked him any questions. My recommendation: NEVER GO TO DR. UNGSON.

My Mother has dementia which causes mood swings, depression and anxiety. We were prompted to change psychiatrists after Dr. Ungson saw her in the hospital. Our first visit should have tipped me off after being rushed through the 10-minute appointment. He wanted to get her off her anxiety meds asap, even though that is her biggest issue, he also wanted to change her anti-depressant which we agreed too but when I asked about tapering her off one onto another and the side effects, he laughed. He laughed and said "I know what I'm doing" like I had no idea what I was talking about. I have been my Mothers advocate for the last few years and do my research on every medication she takes, every side effect and every possible complication. I'm not the average person that just takes whatever the Dr. says and goes with it. Fast forward to last week with my mother having an "episode" that landed her in the hospital, I asked Dr. Ungson to help wean her off some of the meds to get a realistic… baseline, her normal so to speak. When we followed up today in his office he didn't want to taper her off but he agreed and gave me instructions, which I was writing down. I questioned the speed of the tapering 2 different drugs and he started laughing. Laughing out loud to the point that it upset my mother, who then walked out. He then stood up and rushed me out the door and told the staff not to schedule another appointment with us. My Mother was in crisis and he pushed us out the door. This is unacceptable behavior and definitely not medically ethical. I've already contacted the state medical board and have gotten the paperwork to file a complaint. Shame on him. I've never experienced behavior like his in a medical professional before and I hope I never do again.

My Mother was seeing Dr. Ungson for some time and Realized that what kind of psychiatry/purpose can diagnose in help you with your problems when you are in-and-out of the office within 10 minutes. And when she decided to voice her opinion about backes he truly got up from his chair and told her to find another therapist that he no longer wanted to see her as a patient. What kind of therapy are you receiving and that short amount of time and yet when you would get built you were supposedly Be treated and charged for a whole hour. I hope someone will read this before going to see doctor Nick Ungson, Would not recommend him to our worst enemy. He is taken advantage of being located at a community which serves mostly 55 years and older and taking advantage.

Dr Ungson is not like your typical pill pushing doctor, he is reserved in wanting to learn more about your chemical imbalances before making any changes or prescribing any medications. We have never heard of the testing he suggested, but after his explanation it makes total sense as to why it should be done this way. We appreciated his description of what to expect in the upcoming few weeks, and are looking forward to seeing the changes it makes in my husband's lifestyle.

This doctor does not listen at all. I have been to other doctors and recently moved and had to change Doctors. He seems to want one word answers and not let you talk. He should have been a lawyer. Seems all the doctors I have been to for 15 - 20 years are wrong and he is right. I have never in my life been to someone like him who does not listen at all.

I give him a 1 because there is no option for 0 which is the help he gives you. Complete lack of interest in patient to say nothing of compassion. NOT the doctor to see if you need help or understanding
