Dr. Robert Thomas Deveney, MD

Dr. Deveney has performed my 2 total hip replacements and 1 minor knee procedure. He is friendly, patient, has a good sense of humor and takes the time to explain everything in terms that are easy to understand. I have had great outcomes from all of my procedures. His office staff is also friendly and attentive.

DR DEVENY IS A CARING AND NO NONSENSE DOCTOR. NO B S, NO HESITANT VAGUE DIAGNOSIS.HE TOOK A THOROUGH HISTORY AND ASKED MANY QUESTIONS, HE REVIEWED MY OLDER DISCS AND REPORTS, I FELT THAT I HAD FINALLY BEEN HEARD.

Dr. Deveney provided me with the worst experience I've ever had at any medical practice. I understand with COVID the time spent with patients might be shorter but I really don't feel like this was a result of the precautions. The doctor barely introduced himself or took the time to figure out what's wrong or the history of the problem. He was incredibly rushed and I couldn't even finish answering one of his questions before he went into another. He did not ONCE ask me if I had any questions during the visit. After the X-Ray when he came back with a diagnosis he again seemed like he did not want to be there and sped and mumbled through his explanation. He clearly felt he had better things to do than explain a diagnosis to a patient. I was able to catch maybe 1 or 2 words before he left to go grab my injection. Now..the cortisone injection. His bedside manner was horrendous. I came in for wrist pain and when he had me lay down to give me the injection he grabbed my wrist like I was a… rag doll clearly knowing I had severe pain in that area. I understand that the shot had to be given at a certain angle and I might've moved at one point after flinching from the pain but that in no way justifies the aggressive and rough manner in which he physically treated me. The X-Ray Tech also needed me to move my hand in a very uncomfortable and painful position but she was gentle and considerate unlike the doctor who had no decency. I left in tears not from the expected pain of the shot but from the frustration of the horrendous service I received from Dr. Robert Deveney. My only mistake here was not looking up his reviews before the appointment. Many have confirmed that he is cold, inconsiderate, and doesn't listen to his patients. The most disrespectful doctor I have ever met.

This practice was the worst experience of my life . All staff was rude from the front check in staff to the dr . He was not interested in the excruciating pain i was in . Told me to take some meds and be on my way . He never even walked in the exam room , he stayed in the doorway . I was in tears and he didn’t do an exam or anything . I did not improve with meds and has an mri . Went back and once again stood in the doorway saying i need to see the pain management doctor . His secretary , Karen , is so rude as well . Please .. DO NOT go here . I found another practice that was recommend and they are amazing .. wish I went there first . Dr Fish at orthopedic specialists is amazing and so is the whole staff . I was misdiagnosed and treated for a condition I do not have at Danbury orthopedic. If i could give negative stars I would .

Had total hip replacement 2 weeks ago on Feb. 6 I am walking around fine with on 2 physical therapy appointments done so far. Highly recommend Dr. Deveney

Crippled me for a year after hip surgery...never answered my calls. Walked away. Other patients collaborated my experience as well as medical colleagues. Went to an attorney but too complicated

I am a patient of dr. Robert deveney I have been a patient of his for 7 years 7 years ago I had a total knee replacement of the right knee done with regular surgery almost seven years to the day I had my left knee replaced a total knee replacement it was replaced robotically my first replacement took 4 months for recovery and one year for it to feel like it was part of me naturally this time around with robotic surgery within 8 weeks Not only was I done with therapy I was back to work and 4 months to the day I feel totally natural pain free and ready to live a brand new life thank you to modern technology and thank you to dr. Deveney. I would recommend Danbury Orthopedics Danbury Hospital and Dr deveney Steam to anyone they are top notch

I’ve been seeing this guy for about a year now and he is the worst doctor ever. I’d rather do the hip surgery myself than have this ugly pos operate on me. Has zero interest in his patients. If you don’t like to deal with people then why don’t you just go work in a warehouse since you probably can’t do any medical research for a career because you are too stupid to do the job you have now. Don’t waste your time and effort with this guy. Reviews matter and I should’ve done my research a long time ago but glad to be done with this a hole.

I had knee replacement by Dr. Deveney in 2012. I went back to him several times because of pain in knee. Each time was told nothing wrong and pain continued. Now six yrs later I am told the top of the replacement needs to be replaced. Needless to say, angry and frustrated beyond belief!!

Dr. Deveney performed a total knee replacement on me in Oct. 2017. I have incredible stiffness and chronic pain regardless of the necessary time spent in rehab. He does not like to be questioned, becomes flustered and his only recommendation to me was that I see a pain specialist. He has essentially crippled me for life. My other knee is bone on bone now; I will not have the same operation done. Zero confidence in the entire group, including the very arrogant pain specialist with whom I met who recommended Fentanyl.
