Dr. Ronald Paul Dematteo, MD

Dr. Dematteo agreed to squeeze me, same day request from referring physician. I expected him to be rushed, but he wasn't. He was a very good patient educator. I understood more about my particular situation than i had after consulting with two other physicians. His knowledge, self confidence and his calm demeanor coupled with his years of experience put me at ease. This was my first impression. I have no qualms about writing a different re view if i have a different experience going forward

My first visit with Dr. DeMatteo was exceptional. He made me feel at ease as he smiled the whole time. He explained the whole procedure twice as I was overwhelmed the first time hearing the word Cancer. He is so positive and uplifting. His experience and knowledge is excellent. God Bless this doctor from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. May God guide his hands in all his surgeries. Amen.

Our family would never go to this physician or this hospital again, and we certainly would strongly advise our friends to go elsewhere. Please don't let your loved one be a medical experiment! Take a good look at the positive posts here. They all look like "public relations" pieces.

I would never trust this doctor again and will avoid him, and his facility, at all costs. That is my opinion. I have read some of the positive "PR" posts made here and find them to be absolutely disgusting.

It's interesting that people either think he's wonderful or can't stand him. Not much in the middle. Apparently I got him on a good day. He took all the time necessary to explain and discuss, and then he did an excellent job with a very complicated surgical procedure. I'm in far better shape than I would have been in otherwise. His manner is certainly abrupt at times, but I didn't need a new best friend; I needed relief from the cancer. He's been very conscientious and careful about followup, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone needing help within his area of expertise.

In my opinion, this guy is arrogant and couldn't possibly care less about his patients. His primary concern is his research, clinical trials, research funding and finding patients to volunteer for trials. The world revolves around him. There are many good and caring physicians out there - he is definitely not one of them!

He is the most wonderful doctor. He's is very kind and took his time answering all my questions, every time I visited with him. He was very thorough in explaining my diagnosis and each step of my surgery. I would highly recommomend him to all patients with liver cancer, or cancer conditions of the liver. I am very thankful to have been lucky enough to have him as my doctor.

Dematteo to operate...do your homework..you are in the best hands you could hope for....I Suggest reading his paperback books

I just returned from the intitial consultation, for which my wife is a patient. This was by referral by our local oncologist. FDrom the concierge to the gift shop clerk, everyonbe we encountered was upbeat and friendly. But, that was somewhat irrelevant, as what we need is a surgeon highly qualified with issues of the liver. In this case, colon cancer which has metastisized to the liver. Contrary to what others may have posted, there was no difficulty in getting an appointment. We did wait a spell, which was a little unsettling, but we also got the impression that Dr. DeMatteo is, justifiably, in high demand. His personality was engaging, and he had two assistants present who also were extremely cordial. We discussed the different surgical options, and came away from the visit with a much better mindset. This was our first visit, but we came away with a greater comfort level. This is a world class facility, and we're confident Dr. DeMatteo's expertise will be put to good use.
