Dr. Stephen Glenn Bissette

Treats you as a hypochondriac and spends little time with an exam. Ignores serious symptoms, always offers exercises as proper treatment. Does not respond to messages on the Novant website. As a result of his lack of interest, I suffered for several months and eventually ended up in the hospital. Stay away from this incompetent person.

I started seeing Dr Bissette when I moved to Winston Salem and have never been dissatisfied. He sits down, intently listens to my concerns, and makes me feel like I am his only patient. When he moved to another office, I followed him even though the other office was more convenient. Now I have a new insurance and chose the less expensive insurance which did not include Dr Bissette as a provider. I am seriously considering paying out of pocket for the next year to continue seeing him until can change my plan. Yes, he's just that good!

Outstanding "old school" family physician who still spends time with patients and takes time to ask questions and listen. Referred my wife and mother to him...all pleased. Moved out of town and can not find a comparable doctor.

Dr. Bissette is an extremely kind and personable doctor. He genuinely cares about me and always makes me feel like I am the most important patient he will see in his busy day.

Even when I go for a drop in visit to see a PA for sinus infection or something minor, if Dr. Bissett sees my name on the schedule he tries to get me into his clinic. He is one of the best!

Dr. Bissette is my family's doctor and has been for 15 years. He's very thorough in his diagnosis, listens intently regarding the patient's concerns, and follows up to make sure all is working as it's supposed to. I would not hesitate in recommending this doctor, and this practice, to anyone needing a new family care physician. Lastly, this practice has a very reasonable price pharmacy on site so your prescriptions can be filled while you're still in with the doctor, awaiting your arrival! I've checked the prices since I was a cash patient for a while, and the prices at this pharmacy was the cheapest in town for the meds I am taking! It's ALL about the patient at Maplewood Family Practice! And no I don't work with, or affiliated with, any part of Maplewood. I'm just a long-term patient with permanent medical issues that Doctor Bissette monitors my progress very aggressively.

I've been with Dr. Bissette since he started his practice and can say that he's been there 1000% with me during this time. I am a chronic pain (Back and Neck) patient with other ailments from time to time with arthritis and I can say this doc has never glossed over or mis-diagnosed anything since I've been seeing him! The guy is excellent in his career and has exceptional bedside manners; he seems to really care about his patients and their well-being. Couldn't recommend anyone else in this area for practicing family care medicine.

My first encounter with Dr.Bissette was at the Green Street Free Clinic.He was really understanding and listen to my problems and diagnosed everything that I already know I had and it makes me feel good that there is a doctor who actually understands that when you are in pain,it is not a joke.
