Dr. Young Mi Lee, MD

Dr. Eung Mi Lee has truly changed my life. I’m so grateful for everything she’s done for me during my journey to becoming fibroid free. She guided me through every detail of the process leading up to my surgery. I was nervous about possibly needing a myomectomy because of the size of my fibroid, but Dr. Lee was able to remove it laparoscopically instead. She’s incredibly knowledgeable in her field, this is what she does every day, and it shows. She gave me a wealth of information well before the surgery, and I felt completely prepared. The lady knows her stuff. She and her team are absolute pros, and I’m beyond happy that I found her.

I moved from New York and am not having any more babies but Dr. Lee is my favorite doctor I ever had. I felt like she authentically cared about me. I had a problematic twin birth and she was amazing. And through a subsequent miscarriage, she was kind, supportive and attentive. You would be lucky to have her as a doctor.

If you would like to carry your baby/babies to term and without unnecessary anxiety and stress and unnecessary diagnostics, procedures, genetic testing, counseling, etc., etc., then please avoid Dr Young Lee. She will urge you - repeatedly - should any suspicion of a small complication show up, to abort or threaten you with the fear of genetic abnormalities. At every one of my appointments for my twins with Dr Lee, she tried to convince me of yet another problem - the neck is too thick, the heart is not right - even though there was NO evidence of any of these things. At one appointment, she expressed exasperation that both babies were still alive after the tech did my ultrasound, so convinced was she that they were not going to make it. Both she and her office pushed me repeatedly to do genetic counseling and an early CVS test (which she had to perform twice, as she 'didn't get it' the first time around), which the very next day resulted in a 2nd trimester miscarriage of genetically… normal twin boys. I found out later by other Drs that this type of test was not only unnecessary but it is not advised for mothers carrying twins. How could she have pushed for this? I will never fully recover from this loss, as it could have been avoided had I not been coerced into this procedure by Dr Lee. The way she treats her patients is what makes the health care system in the USA a horrific and should-be-criminal system that cares not for the well being of its patients and more about selling as many appointments, procedures, unnecessary ultrasounds, etc. to every single client/patient. If you'd like to avoid a-beyond-horribly managed, pregnancy, then stay away from this anxiety inducing doctor. I do not write reviews, but this is the only thing I can do to warn other women who want to avoid the trauma I have experienced from this 2nd trimester miscarriage. Please do the research - more research than you think you should do - and find yourselves the best Dr.

She delivered my two kids, both ended up being high risk pregnancies. She is very calm and caring. Even though I no longer live in the city, I wish I could go to her again. She is truly amazing for high risk pregnancies. Would recommend.

Any woman in NYC needing to see a maternal-fetal medicine specialist should strongly consider Dr. Lee. She is that very hard to find blend of knowledgeable and compassionate. She's thorough, attentive and goes to great lengths for her patients. I unfortunately recently had a very difficult pregnancy experience that didn't end well (by no fault of Dr. Lee or mine) and I can't imagine having endured what I did under any other doctor. She was amazing throughout a very sad, challenging time.

She is a fantastic doctor. Has guided me through many difficult situations. My husband really likes her too.

Lack of compassion, unprofessional staff.

Honestly one of the most caring doctors I have ever had. She takes the time with you to answer all your questions and makes you feel like you are her only patient.

I could not have asked for a better doctor to deliver my children.

We're expecting our second child (first delivered by Dr. Lee, since she was on duty), and soo impressed with Dr. Lee. We were able to get prompt call backs, answers questions in a caring, always presents options and respects patients' preferences IN AN (almost) AFFECTIONATE manner - nothing like any doctor experience we've had in Manhattan. There is 1 doctor in this practice that we like to steer clear of, so we've had nothing but dealing directly with Dr. Lee and she is the best there is - hands down!
