Dr. Zina J. Ricci, MD

Zina Ricci, MD, FACR, is an attending radiologist and Associate Professor, Radiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Ricci’s clinical focus is in abdominal radiology with expertise in interpretation of abdominopelvic computerized tomography (CT) scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound. She also has expertise in gastrointestinal (GI) radiology, providing interpretation of GI fluoroscopic exams and CT colonography, and in pelvic women's imaging including hysterosalpingography.A graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education of the City College of the City University of New York and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Ricci completed a 7-year BS/MD program, earning her Bachelor of Science in biomedical science in 1992 and her Doctor of Medicine in 1994. After her internal medicine internship at Winthrop University Hospital in 1995, Dr. Ricci came to Montefiore Einstein, completing a residency in diagnostic radiology in 1999 and a fellowship in body imaging in …2000.Dr. Ricci has interest in educational radiology reviews of topics including abdominal manifestations of COVID-19, splenic pathology, abdominopelvic ischemia and CT colonography. She has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, abstracts, posters and invited presentations. She is also a reviewer for several journals including Clinical Imaging, the European Journal of Radiology and the World Journal of Gastroenterology.Dr. Ricci is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology and is a member of several professional societies including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the New York Roentgen Ray Society, among others. In 2023, Dr. Ricci was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society for outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students.
