Dr. Mary Helen Kreitzer

DO NOT GO TO DR. KREITZER AT THE LONGMEADOW OFFICE! And here is why: I called her because I wanted a female oral surgeon to perform my wisdom teeth extraction. I was willing to pay out of pocket for her to do this because in my life, I had something happen to me (a very sensitive topic that I am only mentioning because I need everyone to understand why I do not want anyone to be subjected to her mistreatment). Also, I have a bleeding disorder called Factor 11 (dificulty clotting blood) ontop of all this which isn't severe (I had a c-section in 2007 before I knew about my bleeding disorder and I'm still alive and my hematologist told me my test results are not that severe like my mother's) I spoke to my hematologist who suggested as precautionary reasons for me to take Amicar 6 hours before the procedure. Now that means I would be taking it in the dead middle of my sleep and I need my sleep before a procedure like this and I am a tired mother. I tried my best to stay up and I took it… as close as the 6 hour mark off around closer to 1 AM and went to bed. Fast forward to my appt, which I arrived at 8:30am for a 9am apt, I go in, pay $2400 dollars. Her assistant comes out and asks me when I took the Amicar and I told her the truth, and she went back to discuss with Dr. Kreitzer. The assistant reappeared and ushered me to the examination room. The second I walked into the room, Dr. Kreitzer immediately said in a frustrated loud voice that she could not perform the extraction because of the fact I took the medication 2 hours too early. As a patient, you don't want someone who is about to extract your teeth, come at your face yelling at you. Dr. Kreitzer was so irate towards me for something that could of been handled so much differently. Instead of sounding like a concerned doctor, Dr. Kreitzer acted like an angry parent, belittling me and saying that "as a responsible adult, you should have done this- this - and that" but Im not her child. I am a paying client of Dr. Kreitzer who has given her $250 for a consult and was about to give her $2400 to extract her wisdom teeth. I could have gone to someone in-network with my insurance, but didn't because I TRUSTED DR. KREITZER TO GIVE ME BETTER CARE OVER A MALE ORAL SURGEON, but i feel just as BETRAYED. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Kreitzer to ANYONE (even my enemies!) and would most definitely tell anyone who has had something sensitive happen to them in their life, to go else where.
