Dr. Michael Peter Pecenka, DDS

About the Doctors
Dr.
Pecenka and Dr. Herald have been treating
sleep disturbances and related dental and medical problems with oral
appliances since 1982.
They
have been at the cutting-edge of appliance development and have lectured
nationally and internationally on sleep-related pain and neuromuscular
dysfunction.
Dr. Pecenka and Dr. Herald have been featured on local television and
recognized for their expertise, quality of patient care, and individual
treatment protocol.
Both doctors graduated from Case Western Reserve
University in 1977 and belong to numerous professional organizations,
including American Dental Association (ADA), (ODA), Academy of General
Dentistry (AGD), and are members of the Academy of Clinical Sleep
Disorder Dentistry and Dental Organization for Sleep Apnea (DOSA).
Both doctors spent 18 years studying myofascial
pain & sleep disorders with Dr. Janet Travell. Dr. Travell was
the personal physician of John Kennedy during his presidency. They
published articles …and lectured on the relationship of inadequate
sleep and pain.
They are both Diplomats of the American Academy
of Pain Management and recently lectured and proctored students
at the National Meeting of Oral Systemic Balance in Tacoma, Washington.
They have attended recent meetings of the American
Academy of Craniofacial Pain dedicated to sleep issues and their
management.
Dr. Pecenka and Dr. Herald maintain numerous liasions
with healthcare professionals interested in providing patients with
a better quality of life through better sleep.
