Dr. Michael DeLucia, grew up in Jacksonville and attended Bishop Kenny High School. Upon graduation in 1997 he attended the University of Florida and obtained dual degrees in Microbiology and Cell Science and Business Administration. Upon graduation, he accepted a position at the Mayo Clinic - Jacksonville, where he worked for four years performing research in Neuropathology, including diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
In 2005, he made the decision to join his father in the field of dentistry. He was accepted back to his Alma Mater, the University of Florida to the College of Dentistry. During his educational process Dr. Michael DeLucia was highly involved in scholastic, service and social organizations. He was on the Board for the local chapter of American Student Dental Association(ASDA), he served as President of Gamma Gamma chapter of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. He mentored fellow students to help them achieve excellence in their …educational experience. Additionally, he volunteered at WE CARE and the Alachua County Organization for Rural Needs, Inc. (ACORN) Clinic to provide dental services to the underserved populations in and around the Gainesville area.
In May of 2009, Dr. Michael DeLucia joined his father's dental practices to help serve the Jacksonville community. He brings with him knowledge and experience of cutting-edge dental techniques. At graduation, he was awarded the Academy of General Dentistry Award, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Award, International Congress of Oral Implantologists Award, and the Quientessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontology. He also is a certified provider of Invisalign, the clear alternative to braces.
Dr. Michael DeLucia is also an active member in organized dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, North East District Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He looks forward to combine his knowledge with the experience of his father to create an environment for utmost care of their patients.
