Dr. Tarjan grew up in Persia, where she completed high-school. After attending Marshalltown Community College for two years, she studied at the University of Iowa, graduating with a bachelor of arts in psychology, and later a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Throughout undergraduate and graduate studies, she gained valuable and extensive experience in working with children.
During her time at college, Dr. Tarjan worked as a certified nurse’s assistant and a dental assistant. She also participated in translating for and assisting Afghan refugees in Iowa, providing them with a smoother living transition. Reflecting her passion for community service, Dr. Tarjan has donated her skills to various Iowa and Colorado health centers, meeting the dental needs of the underserved.
