Dr. Neerrajah Ramaswami, DDS

Neerrajah Ramaswami BDS, MS, MPH, FAAPD
Dr. Ramaswami called affectionately by her toddler patients as "Dr. Neeru" is a pediatric dental specialist certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She received her dental degree from India, a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Northern Colorado. For the past four years, Dr. Ramaswami has been practicing at Mott Children's Health Center in Flint, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in Genesee County.
Dr. Ramaswami has a special interest in treating children with special health care needs, and serves on the Michigan Department of Public Health Strategic Planning Commission for Children with special health needs. She has hospital privileges at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, and at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Infant Oral Health, has been her other special interest, and she has worked …extensively with her medical colleagues to help prevent tooth decay by educating them on the devastating effect of tooth decay in children. Her advocacy efforts, and work with her medical colleagues was recognized with the Child Health Care Provider Award in 2008 to honor her work as an outstanding child advocate in Genesee County.
Dr. Ramaswami has spoken at various Continuing Dental/ Medical Education Credits on the topic of Infant and Toddler oral health through the Michigan Dental Association, and the Michigan State University School of Medicine. She serves as a liaison to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Michigan chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She enjoys glass painting, gardening, playing tennis, but does not enjoy the frustration of learning to play golf. She lives in Okemos with her husband Vinod and daughter Vineeta.
