Our general dentist, was born and raised in Southern California and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Long Beach.  He went on to USC where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating in the top 1% of his class.
During his time spent at USC he received numerous awards including the Carl Reiter Scholarship for providing “Excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry”, and is a current member of the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry located in Newport Beach.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Boerner worked in the low-income areas of Los Angeles providing dental care to needy families.  He then went to work as an associate in Irvine, California in a high end dental office that focused on cosmetic dentistry.He is currently a member of USC’s faculty, and spends much of his free time teaching and mentoring dental students.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, …and the Orange County Dental Society.
Here at Newport Bay Dental Dr. Boerner fabricates each crown, partial crown, inlay, and onlay himself rather than sending it to an outside lab.  In this way he is able to handcraft and customize each restoration to provide the patient with the best functional and cosmetic restoration possible.
Using his in office CEREC milling machine he is able to fabricate your restoration while you wait in our Costa Mesa dentist office, or within one day so that the patient no longer has to wait two weeks to receive their final restoration from the lab.
